Yea tried orion r10 pro and tc spec, it just pulls too many amps, btw turnigy 65c lipos are also a big noooo go for tenshock. Puffed three of them this weekend

Man,, kicked right in the receiver! lol Oh yea, for batts I have a Reedy 60c saddle and an Orion 90c saddle. Bout the best I could find.. I also raced onroad touring car back in the day and learned to appreciate quality batts.

I haven't heard of that Orion ,but I will check into it. And I know I know.. THe Tekin is awesome. I'll give it it's props. :tire::tire::tire:

The orion is ok, but have fun paying 70+ bucks just for the programmer lol........

Damn I'm still deciding on if I want to buy the FT SC10 as a backup........

rickybobbyxxx 03-19-2012 07:13 PM

Yea orion carbon saddles are fine for the tenshock, orion esc, not so much, i hated to half to go back to tekin, especially since i run orion in everything else i own, but its the only one that works with that motor

SOuthernFRIED 03-19-2012 07:17 PM

70! ouch! yea, never mind that.. Guess what I'm hearing is either stick with the tenshok and go Tekin or look at a different motor for the LRP SXX.

Y'all have an opinion about the LRP x12L 550 SC motor or the Reedy 550 Sonic?

SOuthernFRIED 03-19-2012 07:20 PM

rickybobby, You have an Orion charger? I picked up the Advantage twinspec, seems damn nice so far.

rickybobbyxxx 03-19-2012 07:21 PM

I have tried them all, nothing touches the tenshock!!! I run over nitro buggys with it

rickybobbyxxx 03-19-2012 07:25 PM

Yea all orion products are top shelf, there r10 pro esc is a great product, i was just asking too much from it, dam tenshock is a 2000 watt motor, just for reference the closest thing too it is the pro4 tekin and its only 1200 watts

beaven 03-19-2012 07:32 PM

tenshock works fine with mm pro ,monster or hobbywing 120

So the Tenshock is probably gong to puff the gens ace5000 40cs as well huh? Do you think this problem could be mitigated by reducing the punch or changing gearing?

Are you running the sc411 4600? Have you used a Tenshock with a hobbywing 120a esc or do you know anyone that has with success? All help and suggestions are appreciated, I want to get the ft built as soon as it arrives.

Posted up while I was typing my question. Glad to hear you had good luck with the Tenshock and hobbywing 120 esc as that is what I purchased for the truck.

Do you run a sensored or sensorless Tenshock?

rickybobbyxxx 03-19-2012 07:44 PM

Beleive it or not those dam gens ace batterys have never puffed on me, there really not bad. I just dont run them cause they only make a 6000 mha saddle pack and that makes truck not feel as sharp, handling wise too me, i run the 4600 kv sensored model, i have heard hobbywing esc is ok but have no personal experience with them, and mmp is crap imo

SOuthernFRIED 03-19-2012 07:51 PM

Any opinion on the Viper ESC?

alex4r 03-19-2012 08:31 PM

I'm using the Tenshock SC411 with a SXX TC Spec, Radiopost radio and reciever, and Savox servo with absolutely zero issues. I'm using the Gens Ace 6000 saddles also, no puffing (yet). so rickybobby must have bad luck.
