so like I said.
You don't have "experience" running the saddle packs personally...
You run stick packs.

That' some funny shizz right there....:lol::lol:

If it wasn't for Hobbypartz/Hobbyking my rc'ing would be slim pickins. With Hobbypartz/Hobbyking, I'm able to fly a handful of planes and race 3-4 different classes.

This is what I'm currently using, I had the black cased turnigys, some big soft pack 2s pre-blue lipos. Never had a problem with any, well maybe a few resolder jobs on some balance plugs.

The 2 old 3s lipos on the right, have been flown/crashed and charged for over 2 years. They still put out 10min flights in a pretty heavy/over powered Super cub...

motor question

similiar to dirtydan what would be better.
Running tight indoor carpet currently have 10t sensorless.
Wanting a bit more but not stupid thinking one of two below.
4 pole hav a lot more watts and amp draw and is very similiar to castle 4 pole in spec.

4100KV 2 POLE SENSORED
Max. Current: 40A
Lipo Cell: 2-4S
Max. Power: 600W
Rotational Speed: 4100KV
Mounting Hole Depth: 5mm
Shaft Diameter: 3.175mm
Shaft Length: 15mm
Dimensions (Diameter x Length): 35.8mm x 52.5mm
Weight: 170g

3900KV 4 POLE SENSORLESS
Max. Current: 86A
Lipo Cell: 2 - 3s
Max. Power: 1300W
Rotational Speed: 3900KV
Mounting Hole Depth: 6mm
Shaft Diameter: 3.175mm
Shaft Length: 16mm
Dimensions (Diameter x Length): 36mm x 50mm
Weight: 185g

Jeffsc10 mentioned a few pages back most run 540 sensored but other swear by castle 1410 4000kv 4 pole.

Meh, it's okay - its a charger with a balance plug and that's about it.

I very much dislike the fact you have to tell it to start twice - once so it confirms the battery it's trying to charge, and then a second time to actually charge. But putting 4000mha back in about 22 minutes is pretty bomb.

I have a 5.5 540 and it's geared at 15/93 w 25 degrees of timing in at like 10K or so. Sometimes I run a 14. What are you planning on running with the 4.5 - a 11 or 12 tooth 48 pitch pinion?

IMO, the 550 motors are the way to go for most tracks because other guys are running them and you'll need the power.

Running both here....

I run the Tekin Pro4 4000 AND the Castle 1410 3800kv. Both are great motors for this truck but I prefer the Pro4 hands down. Im almost starting to regret NOT getting the 4600.....lol. The castle motor just seems more like and on/off switch to me, unlike the Tekin.

Just my two cents.....lol

i don't think they do in the sc10 4x4. in the SCTE people started to use the bigger rotor to cool things down. Novak even made a motor specifically with that rotor but discontinued it do to cost. You can still find them around cheap.

yeah thats the regular one. i believe you should be fine. Besides, if not, you can always just purchase the high torque 14mm rotor . Plenty of them around on the boards and they don't cost much either (like $20 used).

vito 03-20-2012 09:45 PM

Yeah. Hitec's like that too. It "checks" first. then you wait for 3 seconds before hitting it again, in a hurry: I forget sometimes! >_<

With batteries, I'm more of a quality over quantity person.

I tried a few cheap lipos, it didn't go so well.
