Whats better for bumpy tracks? Emulsion or bladder? Can you run emulsion with the 2-stage pistons?

Emulsion offers the most traction , bladders offer more pack, good for landings off jumps & bumps...

I need clarification on this. My 4x was traction rolling so I add 7 shims under the ball stud on the rear shock tower and 5 on the front. This fixed my issue.

Okay.

Now if I remove the shims under the ball studs and just raise the camber link on the rear hubs like in the pic does it give the same result as adding the shims under the studs on the tower side
No, it's actually opposite. If you want to remove inner ball stud shims, you'll have to lower the outer link to keep the roll center the same. Adding the taller towers raises the roll center, same as lowering the inner stud.

I would rather raise the link on the hubs verses having to use longer ball studs. I have a fear they might snap off.
I switched to the 12mm long ones, in any case, I doubt you'll break one. The arms are so flexy they bend first.

Worry not!
I managed to snap a ballstud on my first outing with the truck.

I was there Saturday, but didn't race because I was otherwise occupied planting cotton.

Nick George didn't have any trouble jumping the triple, but he also has a clutch basket. Pizza guy Dave was jumping it with his 2wd SC, and Kevin was jumping it with his 22 buggy.

If you buy the FT upgrade kit, you get a multi part slipper that will fix your power down problem.

Yup it is stock. running the 5.5sc tekin sc motor 13t pinion. I was thinking about trying the 4.5

Without upgrading the slipper, more power makes the problem worse.

Were you pitted on the outside wall against "The Dungeon" next to the rock crawler track?

I know the tekin would be better for racing, but is it alot faster than the castle? I will be racing my buddies on the local track, not for points just fun.
Thanks

Evil Genius jr. 04-09-2012 12:55 PM

Both are fast. However the TEkin 4600 is one of the fastest motors that can fit in this truck.

Evil Genius jr. 04-09-2012 12:58 PM

On another note, well my truck handled terrible on Saturday, It jumped amazing!
The Blue front springs on the rear helped a lot I could clear everything the 1/8s did with only the driver as the inconstant part. If I had more time to practice n that track I could do it every time.

Wobbly Outdrives

I know it came up in here to modify the diff cases to allow the use of 5x10x3 bearings on the outdrives. I was wondering, how that has been holding up? Are there other fixes out there for this now?

I'm replacing my front and rear diff cases due to the diffs starting to leak and the outdrives wobbling after about 8 months of racing.

You want try and avoid any kind of rebound when using the 2 stage pistons. RCShox recommends emulsion or if you like the bladders leave out the screw in the cap.

Thanks!

with the castle 1410 is there anyway to run the fan with the motor that I'm not seeing? was worried about temps since I live in az and will be running it when its summer time from time to time.

Thanks for the reply. It makes sense now:nod:
