R/C Tech Forums - SC10 4x4 Thread

I am assuming you mean quiet in comparison to other SCT 4x4s.

It was quieter than my 1/8 electric. I guess I am just not used to the noise as from what someone else said, it sounded fine from what they had seen of another SC104x4.

Anyone know of a vid where someone was bench testing an SC104x4. that probably would help.

For your MMP setup, are you using a BEC or cap, or both?

Yep I use those packs Work pretty well, don't seem to start falling off till about the 8min mark with my MMP and Pro4 setup. Cain't beat them for the money, but don't forget to factor in shipping when making the decision.

I'm finally going to get to run mine this coming weekend. The only piece missing will be saddle packs. I'm looking forward to it. The amount of information in this thread is amazing!

For those running an MMP, is it necessary to use boost? I pulled mine off of my 2wd slash and wasn't sure where I should start.

All stock settings so far, can't remember what they are, plenty of down low power on our loose track, and was clearly faster down the straight than some of the other trucks here, I have a program box on the way, I think I could add timing as it runs so cool, I do have a turbo fan running over the motor and an old Tamiya heat sink on the motor, it fits great and is pretty big, these were both on there before changing gearing tho, so gearing was the only change.

I didn't see a need. Used smart sense and low start power. Similar to what I do on my 1/8 buggy.

I was reading this thread from before I got my truck so did the saddles right from the truck build, I love the way it comes of jumps nose down, and I have not run the truck any other way, I would rather take steering out than try to find it, I'm going thru that with another car and it sucks.

Well if you need more power but are very close to where you want to be and dont want to change gearing then thats when boost is nice.
Also boost will make the motor come "alive" as well. Just run a couple degrees and see how you like it.

Thanks for answering my questions I pm'd you the other day about motors. I have decided to go mild for my setup and found a lrp x12 8.5 just like my buddies motor. should take some guesswork out as far as temps lol. also going to rig up a fan and possibly heatsink setup for it.

Probably no video. The day will probably just be a shakedown run for the truck before racing starts. I haven't decided if I'll actually run the truck on the clock, and the track I'll be at is very small, so I won't get much of a feel for what it'll do over large jumps or how well it gets down a long straightaway. Just want to make sure it runs and that it doesn't chew up a gearbox with the Sonic 550 4.5 I'll have in it. :sneaky:
