The yellow light will blink in "no timing or boost" mode. If you never adjusted anything on your esc through the Castle Link then you probably arent running any boost.

thanks i did try out the card to the cheat mod is that the same a boost.

I say good for you. Not everyone wants to drop $300 on new electronics. no need to and if it works for you the run the hell out of it!

+1 until you are at a level where you can tell that part of your setup is holding you back (smoothness, missing feature like boost range, etc.) I would just be happy and spend the money elsewhere.

I had to buy my stuff new for my kit, so I spent a little extra upfront so I could save money in the long run by not steeping up in quality/performance gradually.

The majority run the tekin rx8 or the MMP. Then there is the LRP SXX esc's that I run. Motor wise there is a ton of options out there, some run 540 cans, while others run the tenshock motors or the tekin line of SC motors like the pro 4 or SC4X

How do you like the SXX? My lhs has a TC Spec in stock for $20 off and I'm in need of a new ESC. Ive basically narrowed it down between that and the RX8. I'm using a Castle 1410 currently but I will probably get either a Pro4 or SC411 to go with the new esc. I've been wanting to switch to a sensored setup for a while now.

Thanks for the info. Where did you pickup the Fantom packs?

Got mine used and they've lasted a long time(about two season now) with really good power.
but here's Fantoms websight. Great stuff. Top of the line.

I love my TC Spec I never had any promblems with it. Temps are never above 100*F. I would recommend that esc to anyone. It was alot smoother than my MMP. I had cogging promblems with the MMP as well not once I switched.

+1

I love my LRP SXX speedos. I run them in all my vehicles. My tc spec on 2s lipo with my reedy sonic 4.5 550 with 8% boost and no timing dusts and I mean dusts all the losi rx8 pro4 4600kv 4s guys. Then I get accused of cheating... not nocking the rx8 or nothing, just giving my .02¢. Get an LRP SXX and have some fun.

rickybobbyxxx 01-30-2012 06:22 PM

Or get an orion r10 and tenshock sc411 and its lights out!!!

There's nothing wrong with that. Just don't push down on the VXL's button like Godzilla and it will last just fine under 2S
