Hey Ryan,
Congrats on the win at JBRL! You ran flawlessly! You're such a humble guy, you straight put your foot down on the field. It's interesting to see Hartson who we know is SCARY FAST finally get a SC10 4x4 to run. Granted, he hasn't had much time behind the wheel of it, but in the hands of pro's where every 1/10 of a second per lap can mean the difference between 1st and falling out of the top 5, SCTE is really dominating! Ofcourse, it doesn't hurt that it's in the hands of drivers like you and Aaron BTW, the Losi's filling up the top spots in the hands of us non-pro drivers as well. Here's the top 5 of the field at OCRC yesterday
1st, Losi, Fred Mackey
2nd, Losi, Steve Sher
3rd, RC8 conversion, Philip Ortiz
4th, Losi, Scott Kelly
5th, Losi, Pat Carrillo

Needless to say, you've designed one heck of a truck, the results speak for themselves!

SaladFork,
Do you mind adding the Turnbuckle sizes to the first post also. I want to get the Titanium ones (I'm sure others will also want to do the same) and it'd be nice to see the sizes at a glance rather than have to thumb through the entire thread. BTW, thanks for keeping that first page updated, it's awesome and has great information on it!

I use the 40T now, the 43T worked fine.

This is all we had for the conversion unless we wanted to run mod .8 pinions. Everyone had to do this, worked great.

I will do that when I get home tonight... I also plan on refomatting the info a little better. Not much you can do in VB code but I will break it out more.

Couldnt get to the track today So I tore it up on the front street simulating a race, and actualy alot more full throttle speed runs then braking then going ont he grass, did this for about 7 1/2 min then shut it down. Went to charge the battery and put in about 2650 mah, and battery was at 3.8 per cell,(using a gens ace 5000 40c) motor was 84 degrees, this is running the veleneon esc and the sp v10 550 4.5 with a 16t pinion. esc and battery wernt even warm. I think I shouldhnt have a problem making a 6 min main then . Also the vxl works perfect in the truck.

When we use to race brushed motors on nicad batteries you would get alot
more run time from running the exact same gear ratio but running a bigger
pinion and bigger spur gear to get that given gear ratio.

Bigger spur & bigger pinion for a given gear ratio is more efficient. The SCTE
is hard to get run time on some tracks with some motor/battery combos. So
a bigger spur will help. Also a bigger spur & pinion for a given ratio will be
much smoother feeling on a low traction track.

I hope this helps?

Heres a cut & paste from Saladforks post #5667 post I think? this post has
the part # LOSA 3560 and picture if you go back and look at it...

You can fit the 8ight spurs on the Ten diff housing, you just have to take a c-hair off the center hole. I used a 43T spur from the 8ight before they released the 40T. You will have to shim the diff up about 2mm to get the spur to clear the chassis.

Is there anything larger for a spur gear that will fit the SCTE?? Plastic or
metal?? say 42/43/44

Thanks for your time...
I am using a 42t spur gear from OFNA and it is metal.
The holes line up perfectly and the gear sits on the diff perfect, the only catch is you have to open up the middle to about 19mm, which for some should not be a problem to either do it yourself or get someone to do it for you since it is metal.
I also have done it to a 40t and next is a 44t both from OFNA and both metal.
Another gear that works perfect is the plastic spur gear 42t from STRC for the Hyper 10SC and should be easy for a lot of guys to just use a dremel since it's plastic.

With the 42t spur gear from STRC for the Hyper 10SC you do not have to shim anything, just FYI.

I was looking at the recommended ESC for the truck.. With Tekin why not use the rs with it? Cant handle the 550 motors?

No the RS won't work with 550's... Get an RX8.
