Jason,
I'm gonna race my B44 for the first time at IR/CR this weekend (hopefully). What are you geared at with the new track layout. I'm running Tekin RS with a Redline 13.5. Dave

I bought the 87g weight ballast for the rear, only to find out I can't fit it into my original B44 without some significant mods, so I just used lead weights instead. If anyone in the Continental US needs the B44.1 weight ballast and is willing to pay me $6 to ship it, it's yours. Send me a PM, first come first served. Screws haven't even been taken out of their package.

the chassis is already drilled, note the first step on PAGE 8 of the manual when you put that little carbon piece on with the plastic nuts and screws, instead of that carbon piece you use the weight ballast. like mentioned on the post above you this is designed for the 44.1 chassis and doesnt work on the original chassis very easy

1st weekend with the B44.1 at CRCRC. TQ and 1st. Car was very fast right out of the box with kit settings. Ballistic 8.5, LRP TC Spec, Thunder Power 40C 5200 Lipo. This car is just flat better than I remember the B44 ever being.

Anyone having problem with the diffs blowing?? I never had a problem with the old b44. Now I've blown 2 diffs. I've always followed what the manual calls for as far as shimming the diffs but I did notice the b44.1 manuals calls for a different shim setup. Any suggestions to help with this problem

sometimes the molds on the gears and cases can be different. The way to work the diffs is to shim them so the ring and pinion are tight to eachother. This may be a different number of shims compared to the manual. You still want it to rotate easily but you dont want any slop in there. After a run or two things will wear in and you will be set! If the manual settings have your setup a touch on the loose side and then the wear in creates more slop it will be nothing but stripped gears

I vote tekin, all the time updates for their stuff, and top notch customer service. I have switched everything over from lrp because of a few bad experiences. about 10 yrs ago lrp had my vote, but somethings have changed and they are not a very buyer friendly company.

I run the Thunder Power Lipo's. The majority of the people at CRCRC run Thunder Power. I have ran them for 3 years and they have been bullet proof. I still continue to run LRP stuff but have Sphere TC specs and a Version 1 SXX. I'll wait till the V2 bugs are gone before I buy them. I bought 2 Tekin RS's last year and sold them in within 3 weeks of purchase. They worked fine but not as smooth as I wanted. I would own Tekin again if I raced On-Road.
