Hey, all you young dudes

Need some identification here on this diff! Simple question; what is this in the pictures?

Found it while searching through my box with spareparts. I was looking for a new centrediff in this box as i knew there was one there, and found even another one with new gears and a gasket

No problem Lars, I think they are about $120... And you dont even know where you got it? I think if I spent $120 I would know where it came from. Unless you bought something that it was already on and didnt know it.

Nice diff. From what I read, that could be a very handy tuning tool.

Gregg, the body came out beautiful. Mind sharing the process you went through to paint it? I'd really like to try a multicolor paint scheme like that for my JConcepts body.

I'm going to try acetone tonight. I read that acetone debonds any CA. We'll see, as the CA remover I tried is supposed to remove all CAs as well!!

I was hoping to go run in some dirt this weekend, but it's supposed to rain all weekend starting tomorrow.

It took a long time as it's 4 colors. I used bob diveley liquid mask, 3 coats of that, used pin striping tape to do the silver. So I peeled the bottom layer from the bottom to the lowest silver line, painted that white left the striping tape on there painted the middle red then painted the top blue. Peeling layers of liquid mask as I went. You have to scribe it out with an x-acto knife. Then last I peeled the striping tape and the liquid mask under the striping tape and painted the lines silver.

Maybe i will get a rebuild kit for it, i just opened it and found a grey goo inside it. But first i will rebuild the stock diff, i have just sanded the housing for it now Got it flat and nice, i only used 600 grit. Will see if i can get the tranparent O-rings for it here locally, or i will just try the black ones and give it a try. I am only missing the small ones on the outdrives, i have the large ones for the housing. By the way, what is so good with the transparent O-rings? Are they just "the new ones"?

Im guessing that the transparent ones are just a .001-.003 of a millimeter larger so they don't leak. And they changed the color so you dont get them mixed up with the old ones when you take the thing apart and set them next to each other.

But as i can see from Associateds website when searching for 89121, the small ones are still black, which mean that these are the same?

No point in changing the colour when they make them transparent, who is able to see them then?
