Default Other B4.1 Worlds build thread

A couple of days ago I was researching the B4.1 here and saw two main threads going. The other one offered more info on the build and set up on the first page. Did it get merged with this one or something? I cant find it!

Please help.

So, ThunderbirdJunkie has a confession to make.

He got a Durango DEX210.

So far, he's noticed most of the parts are backordered.

B4.1FT+8: 1
DEX210: 0

Oddball never-available steering rack bearings? WTF? Who ever heard of 3x7 bearings? Helicopter guys?

So far, the car builds great...as long as you have the parts to put it together...

As of Saturday, ThunderbirdJunkie will have had his DEX210 a week and 3 days. Guess what he's racing?

I really like their out of the box thought out 4 wheel. I would love a series of really good pix showing the 2 wheel in the construction phase...

The only reason I have this thing because me and my buddy both drove to the track and BOTH forgot out transmitters like idiots and we couldn't let our lipos rot (I'm a bad influence) lol. It has turned into my favorite car by far though, and 2wd mod buggy is pretty popular at the track which definitely eased the purchase. The motor is too powerful for our tight track but I feel like it's making me a way better driver.

I really am debating if I should just sell my share back to my buddy and build up a worlds with a HW 60A/5.5t. IF I get a ball diff, some better shocks and some other little stuff will I be that far off from a worlds ? Sorry for the essay, no one to talk RC with in manhattan

I run stock 17.5 and made a couple changes this saturday. First off i went to inline axles/hubs up front, it steers like crazy now and still has plenty of rear traction. I'll check tomorrow but i think i forgot to put the ackerman spacers in the rear so i'll change that for next weekend. High speed steering felt the same and low speed steering was increased more than i've ever felt, there was almost no push or waiting for the front end to hook and turn while going really slow. Not sure if i'll stick with them for the long run but for not it feels like a good change. I'm still 1-1.5 laps behind the leader at the end of 8min though, i blame the driver mostly

Also went from orange front and pink rear to silver front and yellow rear losi BB springs, major difference was more traction in the rear and not being able to jump as far.. if i hit the same jump with stiffer springs it launches my car farther, with a low battery and yellow rears i can't clear a double at our track and case it, even with a good run at the jump. I'm going to try silver/pink and see how she goes next weekend. I drilled my rear pistons with a 1.3mm bit(almost #55, closer to a #2 than a #3) and run 30wt, front is #2 with 32.5wt. Might go with #3 rear and 22.5.

Comments on my setup are welcome, either i've lost the "Edge" that i had when i started running buggy and winning a lot, or everyone else is getting faster in general..Or a combo of both

It goes in between the Rear Arm mount/Anti-Squat and the Tranny. Refer to p.10 - 11 of manual .

Can anyone recommend a tire that will not wear incredibly fast on a carpet track. I practice almost every day of the week and just want a tire that wont be worn to slicks in 3 days.

Thanks

Thunderbirdjunkie should have talked to BDS before buying the Durango. A couple of folks at BDS's track have tried the Durango and found the same things. Thunderbirdjunkie can't race a car if Thunderbirdjunkie can't get parts. ....its kind of fun typing like that...

Schumacher Mini Pins in Blue compound. 8 or 9/10ths of the traction of the Yellow and a bit better wear.
