How many of you have stripped a pin drive wheel not by your own doing (aka leaving a wheel nut loose)?
I haven't ever stripped one on a B4, Cougar SV, or B4.1. I've never had a problem with hexes or pins, and I still do use the hexes when I want to use my 22 wheels. It's a fad IMO. If you don't have a reason to change, don't bother, as there is nothing gained from it. |
yeah, the solid captured pin is nice. I have had a few wheels over the years that were very tight. yeah, I could have drilled them out. And I thought i had the wheel lined up and pushed on all the way but didnt. I always test the wheels when I change them, so I never stripped one out, but it was annoying. The fact is hex is a lot easier. Side note, I dont use the hollow axles either. I have a few wheels with attached axle running around where the hex stripped out and i could not get the wheels off. I like the solid front axle, but it can catch on the pipe and ripe my arm off.

It's fast becoming the industry standard and parts support for the old wheels might become scarce.

With the popularity and how well the WC is doing it may be a while before we see a B5 come out, honestly there isn't to much they could do better to the b4.1 wc IMO, but you never know lol.

Is there any advantage in running AVID/JC wheelhex over the standard pin/bearing type???
Or is it just beacuse it`s the new shit on the market? |
i run DE pin wheels and do not have any issues,b4/44.
i personally do not see the need for a hex in a buggy.just my 2cents |
