AE train now boarding!!!!

I've been running a TLR22 since returning from a break in racing. After being the subject of much ridicule from my friends, I decided to sell one of my Losi's and give the B4.1WC a try. Hopefully, I will not be let down. I haven't wheeled an AE buggy since the original RC-10.

...and just out of curiosity, why are a lot of you guys running MIP axles? Reminds me of the old days! lol

We are running mip axles?

ok, I am going to put together an order and wanted to try the BB spring conversion. These are the parts I need, correct?

Thinking of a 1258TG...thoughts?

1258 or 1257 are good servos from savox for buggy

sorta, get red fronts. Everyone says they have trouble getting the bottom traxxis retainers on, mine slid right on.....

I run a 1251 in my buggy, plenty....

Wildcat1971 07-15-2012 05:38 PM

you like the reds better? I was debating between the losi and traxxas ones. I have heard people say they broke the losi retainers.

Wildcat1971 07-15-2012 05:44 PM

why would you want to go so soft? Brown is AE's lightest front spring at 2.8 lbs. The Orange is 2.9 and the red is 2.5. From what I have read the spring rates when switching over should be close to what you use now.

Ok guys took my B4 to the track again today and had a blast. Well that was until I had an issue with my front wheels falling off. Here's my problem I am using hex wheels all the way around, I used all the correct parts for the front (I hope) and I am using the same lock nuts in the front as I am in the rear. My problem is if I tighten down the front to much the wheel will no longer spin freely so I have to loosen it just enough so that it does. Anyone know what the problem is, did I forget a part, did I install something wrong? PLEASE HELP LOL

Did you use the c-clip inside the axles?

just finished my car and it's loud too ... i also had a brand new kit with all new AE gears(pinion/spur). i don't want to have to take it apart but i don't like LOUD cars. jr! hopefully see you tuesday night and you can do it.

I tried orange because thats what my LHS had, then I put in the reds a week later. I guess I reallly don't notice the difference because I am new to this. I had to much front bite with the reds indoor on carpet, and not enough bite outdoor so I guess it just depends. Everyone says red, so I would start there.

I'm getting a new 13.5 for my B4.1 this weekend. Anyone got a good gearing combo (non-boosted) as a starting point?

Yeah I thought I fixed it, what happened was the roll pins got bent so I replaced them and it was working just fine, however since I'm not using the c-clip's its allowing the axle to be loose causing the roll pins to bend easily. So it was a partial fix until I bent the pin again. So I bought c-clips at my local track along with new roll pins and now it is good to go.........
