Is the newly released RTR car the same as the kit? Any upgrades that the kit has that the RTR doesn't? My local shop has a good deal on the RTR this holiday weekend. Thanks!

hey John,
the RTR is the same as the kit. I'd buy the RTR. if nothing else you could sell the radio, ESC, and motor for $50 and have a killer pre-painted body. See you at freedom park tomorrow

If there's a difference, I haven't found it, aside from the extra spur... It appears almost exactly the same.

The RTR comes with the $60-$70 Pre-Painted body and radio gear. Not too much different than that.

AE R&D is working on a fix for the wheels as we speak.

What's the problem?

There is a hollow section in the wheel hex. The wheel pin will eat into the void in the wheel, which will crack and break the thin plastic layer. Once that happens, the drive pin eats up the entire hex.

The best fix I have come across is to fill it with JB Weld from the get go or "rebuild" the torn up slots with JB Weld.

Looks good Sith :).

If you are running on an outdoor, dry track I have a few suggestions. Dremel the tabs off your battery strap so you can mount the battery to the rear of the truck. Use the Gold Front springs with Black Rears (if it's REALLY loose, otherwise leave the Greens). I run #2 Pistons the entire way around with 30 wt. AE oil. Stock shock limiters front and rear. Bones level front and rear; LOWER the rear ride height by 3-4mm if it's really loose.

Dremel your stock tires to add side bite. Cut a groove in the outside lugs as shown.

Easiest way is to just mount up the JConcepts Goosebumps :D.

Cheers. Don't know what AE were thinking with the Battery strap. I had to dremel quite a bit off near the twist knobs. Have also drilled big holes near the rear to mount it towards the rear too.

You need to make one of these :D This way you can run any configuration and battery.

t4 and a b4 with factory team thumbscrews, the rear studs you will have to make or find your own cause the originals are way to short.
