Ok so can somone explain the benefits between the inline front axles and stock? It looks like it would push the front wheelbase up a bit and make the steering faster due to the difference in leverage.

What are they supposed to officialy do? More steering?

Anyone got any ideas for the question above?

Need some Diff info

what would work best for a track that has good traction but also loomy and dusty at times. I currently am running 10k wt in the diff but its too much for it. it just wants to spin and do donuts.

I was told to go lighter on the fluid or even go back to grease. any suggestions?

I would definitely go back to the grease in the diff.

Have you added the 1 degree toe in rear hubs or grooved your tires.

Try messing with the rear suspension, and maybe put some Expo on your throttle. ;)

I'm using 40w shock oil in the diff and it works great.

I didn't want to keep testing which fluid works best, so I installed a ball-diff instead.

The diff filled with black grease works great along with some 1 or 2 deg rear carriers. I run my track dry now and my truck runs really good.

Well, I got my SC10 RTR today. I didn't really get to drive it much, been raining all day so the track is a lake. I did get to drive it around on a smooth concrete floor. The stock tires SQUEEL like real tires when you peel out. Seemed a good match in power to the slash.

I took it back to my shop to install a DSM receiver, but for shitz'n'giggles, I dropped it on the floor to just drive around a bit. Nothing, I got steering, but no throttle.(this is before I installed the new receiver) Hmm, I just drove it, WTF? So I tried resetting the ESC, no luck. Ran through the setup procedure several times. Checked the brushes on the motor, still nothing. I hooked up power directly, and it worked...

So, I replaced it with my trusty Novak GTX, and left the stock motor in it. I tested it, and it seems plenty fast. About as fast as a decently tuned 19T motor, so I think it'll do fine on the race track. I played with the settings a little, got the brakes to be more progressive. Installing the better ESC and the DSM receiver, made the steering servo work MUCH BETTER!

I also modified the battery strap system. With the very short wires I used on that ESC, the battery needed to change orientation to reach. I also just wasn't happy with the way it clamped down on the wires. So I drilled holes in the back of the retaining bracket, and it fits perfectly now! I can even leave the balance wire connected.

I'm pretty sure it's race ready. Now we just gotta doge the rain bullets! The build quality of the truck is good, and the decals were applied pretty well(Lucas Oil version). The stock tires feel soft and sticky, so they may hook up pretty well.

My racing buddy got a Slash at the same time. First impression comparison, is they seem pretty comparable in weight, etc...

As soon as the rain lets up, and we can drive them on the track, I'll get some vids.
