I would bet it's setup vs body. Also, did you cut your Flo-tek out?

Yes, I did cut out the vents. I'm 99% sure the springs are too stiff on the front and they have too much pre-load/rebound. I bought the truck as a roller with someone else's set up so that very well may be the case.

Hey guys,

So, whenever I work on setting up my truck... I use the stock 1 piece camber gauge (that came in the kit) and just "eye-up" the ride height. Recently, I was looking and saw this RPM camber gauge and ride height gauge:

They look pretty nice, and was wondering if anyone has used them before on their SC10? Do you think that they are necessary, or should I just save my money and keep using the one included with the kit? Thanks for the input!

I like the RPM one better because it is taller and seems to be easier to gauge across the rim.
Haven't use ride height gauge, but looks like it should work just fine. I use the Associated one.

All the upgrade parts are expensive, though. Upgrading a bone-stock RTR chassis to FT specs will cost more than the price of the entire kit. Shocks, ball diff, CVAs, turnbuckles, steering bearings, hinge pin brace, motor plate, battery strap, etc. There are so many upgrades in the FT that it's hard to list all the difference between it and the RTR.

The electronics he has in there eclipse the cost of an entire RTR. Might as well go all the way.

The only things I don't like about the SC10 FT kit is that they include rear springs nobody uses and they include cheap plastic rear hubs, rather than the aluminum ones included in the B4.1 and T4.1 FT kits. So, +35 to the kit price to make it a truly complete FT configuration.

What rear springs does everyone go to from the kit ones? I just build my ft sc10 this week and used mayfields setup on oils and pistons. But what rear spring are you referring to? What color?

17 mm adaptors shit product from STRC

Those are for 1/8th scale buggies. I know it says conversion for SC10, but no real good reason to go that large. 12mm work just fine and there are assortment of wheels to choose from.

Why would you put a 17mm adaptor kit on a 1/8 buggy which already has 17 mm drives? I don't see your point? These adaptors ARE for a SC10 just poorly designed. The front adaptors though flawed to a degree, work fine. The rear however are sloppy with no way of securing a nut down the tube of the hub.

Im sitting here reading the short course edition of RC Car Action and Ryan C. is saying that he uses Mayfield's SC Nationals setup pretty much everywhere. when I look on AE's site there are 2 Mayfield setups for the ROAR Nationals. Does anyone know which one he is refering to, 2011 or 2012?

Thanks

So i've been running my ft kit for a few months now and it's pretty dialed. I see most guys on here and at my track did the hex conversion. Does the extra offset make a big difference? I'm pretty happy with it the way it s but if it can be better i'm game. Just want to make sure the money spent to change over with all new wheels is worth it.

Im converting my brand new FT SC10 to hexes completely while building it, that way I wont have to worry about missing out on having old rims (AE style)

The +3mm makes a huge difference, stabilizes the car out faster and just improves handling period.

Could you guys help me to choose some tires for this track?

It's not me driving :p

If you have any advice for the setup of a stock SC10 and SC10FT I would gladly appreciate it too :), I'm used to 1/8 buggy but this will be the very first time I will race a SCT on clay

Its hard to say, but the dirt looks like jconcepts subcultures would work good with the taller tread. But I'm guessing off the video.
