SC10 Thread
I was wondering if I have a faulty ball diff spring, it has like every coil fully compressed. Apart from the middle one which only has a 0.5mm gap in coils.
it is brand new out of pack from a sc10 ft kit.
its virtually fully compressed even holding it in your hand, is this normal?

, about $9.99). I found this picture on tower, this is what the spring is to look like:
Good luck man, hope you figure it all out.
So, I recently converted my F.T. to Losi BB springs. Prior to putting them on, I ran AE grey rears and red fronts. After a few practices, I have the backs running 22T rear pinks, and it feels good. However, the front is too soft, and I am running the 22T rear silvers on it (3.4). So, I was looking at getting stiffer front springs, and all I can find that is a bit stiffer, is the 22 buggy front blues or blacks (3.8 / 4.1). However, they look much shorter then what I'm running currently, so I'm afraid they might end up being softer then the rear silvers.
So, my question, is anybody running the 22 buggy front springs on the front of their SC10 with success? Or, has anyone found a Losi spring that they are running, that closely imitates the AE front red's? Sorry if I asked a question similar to this in the past... I'm just trying to get some good insight on it before I go spending more money on springs I don't need (I've already spent $20+ on springs that don't work right
)

)Red or gold AE front is what I run. It works so I am not changing it.
at one point AE will release the BB shocks. I can wait. The truck handles well with the setup it has. Just fighting motor temps right now

)I am running blue 22 buggy fronts (3.8) on the front of my SC10 without problems. Like I have posted before. I didn't do my normal back to back testing, I just threw them on and ran it, but it felt good. The spring rate is what the spring rate is. If it is rated stiffer, it will be stiffer. Length has nothing to do with how stiff the spring is.

It is a bunch stiffer than the stock one, and has a lot more usable adjustment.

)I purchased a set of 22T green fronts, when I measured them, they were softer than the 22 buggy silver rears (TLR 5171). Are you sure that you didn't buy the 22T silver fronts (TLR 5181)? The springs are rated the same, but when I measured them, they weren't the same...
I use a LOSA2933. Use the spring. Throw away the rest.

Also I was wondering if it is normal for a ball diff to slip if you dont sand the diff rings at all from brand new (they are shinny), as I had my diff as per the "how to properly setup ball diff and slipper clutch guide by racer53" all but i did not sand the diff rings and every time i try to pin it and hold the back tyres my trauck makes this horible screaching sound, I know its not the slipper as it happens no matter how tight i have it and i can never get the wheels to lift of the ground at all, all cogs in tranny are not stripped and everything roles smooth as butter without pinion on, diff feels gritty now tho.
Its more notacable with my 9.5t motor in, as comparred to my 17.5 (thought it might have stripped the magnet from the rotor shaft)
it now happens even when the 17.5 is in and diff is tightened all the way down, strange????
Thanks, I ended up finding a tamiya 416 spring that fitted and worked, but i will order the losi one.

The gritty feeling is from the thrust bearing. It gets worse as you tighten it up. Sanding those rings really helps.
