No sir. The gear diff in the SC10 consists of sun and planet gears. I am referring to the sun gear, the flat one. Not the smaller planet gears that go on the crosspins.

NO it doesn't, unless you are making up your own definition of a planetary gear set.

a sun gear is the center gear in a gear set that all the gears spin in the SAME plane

a spider gear set is used in an open differential to let the tires rotate at different speeds;

How did you get that crazy traction?

With the stock tires and a 17.5 I couldn't even drive mine at hot rod. I put slash tires on it and it was better but still slower than my slash.

What type of surface are you driving on????
My personal track if i water it the night before and let it soak in over night the next day it is wet/tacky this truck hooks up. Now if i dont water it at night and just dust it with water before i drive as soon as it starts to dry the trucks attitude changes and it is very hard to drive and be consistent.

What's the gearing you used on the 8.5, I see it's a smallish track.

I have no idea about the traction. stock tires work well at my track. the truck still is a hand full and i like that some times. if i race a rig that performs better every race. It gets old

I don't know what to call it, most likely hard packed clay. It will mud up if it gets too much water and blue groove without water. I think it is very unique dirt, none of the other tracks in so cal are like it.

if it's wet at all stock tires work best on the Slash. dry or hot and the Switch pro-line work, wet they are a joke.

I got a set of Slayer Switch tires today to try. I still can find goose bumps.

Corr trucks are taking over everywhere! they handle horribly at speed

Yeah, this is where my lack of experience really shows up. I'm not an expert tuner. Some of these settings on my radio are a little confusing. I'm not ready to give up on the SC10 yet, but I have been getting frustrated. I now have the Kurt Wenger setup and it helps.

I'll be at Hot Rod tomorrow. I'll practice with the SC10 there and see how it goes. I don't think I am ready to race it though. I'm racing my Slash and T4.

I wonder if it will be dry enough?
