Set the lowest ride height position then set the most inner hole on the shock tower and most outer hold on the arm. Stiff sway bars will help lower the truck while in the turns.

Assuming it's race legal, you could try smaller wheels.

Never did it on my SC10, but back in the day with my RC10, I just added a bunch more downtravel limiters to the shocks. Shouldn't need that much travel for oval anyways, right? Or am I overlooking something.

Use nitro fuel line. Cut piece to lower to whatever ridehight you want. We do that with our SCLM.

I had a look at HPI, but I am unsure which ones would fit.

You can get the stock AE wheels in chrome...part #9868 and 9869

Hinge pin stays

Is anyone else having problems with the 2-56 x 1/8 screws actually retaining the hinge pins like they are supposed to? When i built the truck i thought it was kinda hoaky and now i'm convinced, I've had 2 rear hinge pins slide out as the hole for the screw was too far from the hole for the hinge pin. thinking about a longer screw and installing a washer to make up the difference.

Is the clear tire glue you get from the lhs the same as "Super Glue" brand CA? I don't mean the "Rubber Strengthened" kind but just the regular runny liquid kind.

I know it's a bit off topic but it is for an SC10 :).

yes and no. ha

Theres different thickness and such plus bond strength. Thin, med thick etc

M1Combat 02-09-2012 08:50 PM

Is the regular super glue stuff a good bond strength? The stuff in a yellow bottle with the red cap.

I'm just wondering if I should use it. I bought a bottle of the "tire glue" from the lhs but its freakin' dry... So I'm wondering if I can just use regular super glue. I race and I don't want it to come apart. I'm not in a huge hurry so I can get whatever I need. But if the regular super glue is just as good as any of the other stuff I'll just use it. The bottle I got is "thin" as I would assume the regular SG is as it's also rather runny.

All CA is CA but not all CA is created equal.

The stuff from Proline/AKA/Jconcepts/Losi is all made by Permatex and good stuff. I have had poor results with Zap brand and the generic brand hobby shop CA's, but only because I used them for years and the Permatex stuff is better because it doesn't vapor up. In a pinch they will all work, sort of.

I find a cotton towel and a ready to spray can of motor spray (spray the towel, wipe off the tire) is super helpful.

ok decision time :)

jconcepts carvers or pro line slicers? and wich compound? for clay/mud track outdoors

RCW 02-10-2012 03:02 AM

I have used the Gorilla brand with good results but it takes a little longer to set up.

Neither. It's a short course truck, not a buggy.

doesn't mean some places won't let you use them kind of tires.
