+1 this is just about all you need to get your SC10 running GREAT! The only little thing I would maybe add to these things, is a set of weights ($5.50 @ your LHS). They will allow you to dial your truck in just right. Other then those 4 things, you should be good to go for a while!

A different servo wouldn't hurt.

You will probably want to change spring rates at some point, depending on the tracks you will be running on.

hey guys question, Just put a sway bar on my truck and ran the meduim silver one. The truck seemed to be very very tight and lost alot of steering mainly off power. did i perhaps tighten it down too much or is the silver too much or do i just need to drive it differently now?

Any thoughts??

What are the "must have" upgrades to race a standard SC10 (the kit, not the RTR)?

Most have upgrades
tires for the track
A good radio system
Good servo
Good ESC/motor for class running

Hex's help you change wheels a little faster and use others if people have different tires you can try

RPM bumper i feel is 100% a waste for a race only truck.

The list can go on and on and on with opinions on what people think a truck needs.

hey guys, i am new to the sc10 world here and have a question for you-

i just bought an RS the other day....i ordered some premounted j concepts tires, and chose the "sc10 front" because i assumed there were different offsets between the front and back. after reading some recent posts about hex adapters (which were already on there), i am now worried that i wont be able to use these "sc10 fronts"

i am hoping that at the worst, they just slide over the existing axle after i take the roll pin for the hex out????

I jus converted my frontend to the hex axles. When i tighten the wheels there alot of binding. did I miss something?

What parts did you use?
9980
9881

Did you make sure that c-clip that goes on the stock axle was installed correctly into the hub?

Yes you can.. just might be tricky tightening them up .. the axle and bearing size is the sane.. I also know you can run pin wheels front and rear after you convert. I ran all day with pins ip front lol.

to all the indoor guys, maifields outdoor nats setup works really well on indoor clay tracks, just pick your tires, i tried chad dues indoor and i slowed down a lot. :tire::tire:

You should be ok. My sons RS has hexes front and rear. Unless the ones you ordered were the old style?

I think when it says for a SC10 it implies the rims with the bearings in them. Most of them say SC10RS or (Hex conversion) somewhere in the print

Leadfinger2011 02-11-2012 09:17 PM

If they specified "front" they are most likely bearing wheels that go on the front spindles as on the SC10 Ft. If you are running hexes you want the wheels on the SC10 4x4 KMC. I havent gone backwards on the thread but if you put the part number you ordered up here I'm sure we can get it straight for you.

Do you have other hex front wheels? If not it takes maybe 2minutes to put on the other spindles if you need to change. The wheels fit on the converted front end. But you can't tighten the nuts.
