Can someone post some tips on how to get rid of some of the slop in the steering of my SC10? Thanks.

Sure.

What track conditions did you run on?
Hardpacked smooth/open track that veried between dry slick/w marbles on top and medium traction depending on when the water got there.

How did it feel?
Not as good as it did with blues and greens.

1) Buy new outdrives and bearings. This is a fairly expensive route.
2) Buy the T4/B4 ball diff case and a T4/B4 rear chassis plate. This is really cheap (5-6 bucks), but could leave you or a future owner very confused.

I hope this helps./QUOTE]

I have purchased a brand new updated F/T ball diff, I purchased all brand new bearings straight out of the F/T parts breakdown and I purchased the case out of the same catalog. It does not fit. I have since purchased a ball diff case that was taken out of a F/T kit off of ebay. Hopefully this will solve my issue.

22 and 22T springs are going to be the same. Here is a link to the parts you need:

TLR Rear 12m spring , yellow #5167
TLR 12m spring cups #5095

yellow rear if you need more traction
TLR5169 Red (more steering)
TLR5170 Orange (less steering)

You need the TLR spring cups for the rear shocks, the front requires Traxxas else you can't get the preload correct, and the ride height is +5 or more too tall.

Mine is set up just like Craig's. I haven't gotten to the Track because I was locking down a steering tierod end, and I snapped the whole arm off. SO pissed.

Needing a little insight and help. My son has a sc10rs and while I can drive it decently he is having a really hard time with its handling. Seems too on edge especially corners. It heels way over and he ends up over-steering and then over correcting it. I have driven it back to back with a ft and my sc-r. Both trucks simply out handle his truck.

I'm toying with the idea of either giving him my kyosho and buying myself a new one, giving him my kyosho and getting myself a 22T, or trying to turn his truck into a ft.

I've tried up'ing the springs rates, thicker oil, more limiters, less steering EPA. Would simply putting some ft shocks and or ft arms front and rear take the looseness out of his truck?

If it's set up the same as the factory team version, it should handle the same. If it doesn't, there's something different about it. Maybe the differential? The ft shocks are simply easier to build and adjust, they don't perform any different. FT arms... are those the carbon ones? Pretty sure you won't see a difference in those either.

Set the slipper so the ft end only barely raises , less then a 1 inch.

Mine seems to work pretty well.

I'd make sure it has the same setup as the FT. Same holes for all the dampers and stuff, same springs and ride height and all that sort of stuff. Then I'd rebuild the dampers with whatever you have in your FT. What about tires? Same tires? Any control arms binding? Anything broken (chassis cracked)?

I'll assume you've taken the tire issue out of the equation (right tire for the track), have you tried adding weight to the rear or adding rear toe (either through the rear hubs or center toe block)? Have you tried adjusting the roll center with the shims under the ball studs?
Just a few ideas, hope that helps.

I would check camber link locations and where shocks are mounted first. If hes running on those stock hard front tires that could be a big difference.

Check out Sc10 set-ups on www.Rc10.com

pick out a set-up that fits your track conditions best...

You could try springs & oil , ect your self but advise to use the Team set-up as your best starting base before all that ...

Keep the spring buckets, and toss out the rest. You need to massage the springs over the buckets, but they stay centered on the shock and don't drag as much.
Hey Craig, I had that shock rebuild kit from for my Losi Highroller laying around and decided to try a bucket out and see if it eliminated the spring rub.

It didnt seem to seat the spring properly allowing the bucket to move/swivel easily, while constantly getting uncentered. If there is an impact or tumble it seems like the spring will move excessively, rendering them less effective.

Should I tighten or shorten up a bit the shock rod ends to add more pressure to the spring, possibly eleviating my issue? Did you run into a similar problem with the cups/buckets? I did read your previous post about making sure they are centered correctly, but do they move easily to your touch?

Thanks for any input in advance.
