Start with 84/18 and work your way up/down from there.

sc10 diff issues

i have a gear diff that jams and malfunctions help

RatsacK 09-08-2011 02:19 PM

Have you pulled it apart? Everything look OK inside? Maybe get a rebuild kit for it. Is it a gear diff or ball diff?

Also, you should be posting this in the actual SC10 thread, not in your own thread.

Lots of good racers in the Sc10 thread that will help ...;)

Has anyone tried mounting a piece of lexan to the nerf bars or side bars to help with the parachute effect? I tried and I think it helps a little but was wandering if anyone else tried this to see if there is a difference.

Does anyone grease the dogbones going into the diff outdrives to prevent wear?

I think the best way to reduce wear is to get away from the light weight versions and stick with the standard diff outputs. Seem like they are made out of softer material. Apparently its not just the machining that makes them lighter. Otherwise, you should just be able to give them a little blast of compressed air to clean them up after running them. The grease is just going to attract grit, IMO.
