JEFFs SC10 01-22-2011 11:22 AM

got a race tomm, hoping to do well.

got a question for the guys with the FT SC10's, are you running the red/grey springs in loamy clay. I've noticed that was too hard so I run silver/green springs with 35 wt oil.

Is it better to run a lower weight oil (like 30 wt)with a stiffer spring? Just curious.

Why do some guys run a higher wt oil in the front vs the rear?

suggest checking out rc10.com and look at the Sc-10 team set-ups...

If you use a thicker oil or spring on the ft its usually for smoother or less steering ...

Besides Associated, what bodies are popular on the SC10 ?

Gear Diff issue

(i know the real answer to my question is to swtich to a ball diff..... but)

I have a T4.1 RTR with the gear diff (the same one that is in the SC10)

It started making a stripping sound under hard acceleration. I called AE and Don Natale told me the shim behind the sun gear on older gear diffs was too thin so it let the sun gear move back and forth too far (so the gears would pull away from the sun gear and slip occasionally).

So I get the extra shims (they are exactly the same size as my current ones) however when I install them (it says to just add the extra shim and put the metal pin back in place), the sun gear will not spin. The only way I can get it to spin is to pull the smaller outer shim off of the outdrive hub (the one that goes next to the big bearing)

Anyone have this same problem?

I have. I noticed the FT runs red/grey with 30 wt oil all around. Was just pondering why they ran that set up.

KD36-74-06XL on SC10

Hi,

I'm just wondering if it's possible to swap the Reedy 3300kV with this KD36-74-06XL? I know i have to change the pinion to 5mm shaft type. Will it be too much power to handle? Due to it's long can and weight, will it make the SC10 unbalance in weight distribution between front and back, left and right side?

The link to this motor is here: http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...idproduct=6677

I'm planning to pair it with HobbyKing 150A ESC. Link is here: http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...dProduct=10370

The battery will be Turnigy 5000mAh 2S2P 40-50C

Unbalanced: yes
Too much power: yes

stick to 540's.

nightc 01-23-2011 06:18 AM

This is a 540's, according to HK website. Just that it is longer, I guess it will produce more torque. Just wondering if can wheelie with just 2S with this motor.

What's the next best brushless system to replace stock? I just feel that the stock doesn't have enough power for wheelie...

Dimensions: 36×74mm isn't right. A standard 540 is 36x50. you are looking at more of a 550 motor, which is not what you need in a sc10. That's also a 1/5 or 12/8 scale esc, and is not only a bit of overkill, but dimensionally huge. Do some research, there are a ton of threads on "which brushless combo?" etc....

FT SC10 Rear Hub Carriers

Looking at a few different setup changes and I was looking for the optional rear hub carriers like the setup sheet shows, but I can't find the associated part numbers. If someone can help with the .5, 1.0 rear hub carriers I would appreciate it. Thanks

The set-up the Team Sc10 comes with can work almost anywhere on many different track surfaces .

If you wish for more specific set-up for a particular track or track surface the Factory team set-ups work really well....
