I'm not a fan of "spec" racing, I just don't want to see mini pins and grooved tires in this class, if we allow the JC tires, then were already starting down a very slippery slope.

At our track, it's the biggest class. Nationwide, I dunno, but the last big race I saw in mags and on the net, was pretty much dominated by 8th scale.

I know allowing better tires will make the stock tires obsolete. But why would you want to limit the tires when they still look as good as the others? Why wouldn't you want it to perform better? I understand it's a slippery slope, but I don't think holding the cars back is a good idea. Really, it'll be up to each local track to decide. This will prolly end up just like the Losi Sliders, Minis, and late models. Here today, gone tomorrow. I, and many other racers, still have a bad taste in our mouths from the last "Spec Class" we entered. Now they catch dust... wanna buy a mini-t?

Not the direction I want to see this class head in.

I must say that after looking at the SC10 tire compared to the others by TRX and PL that Associated broke the mold of going outside the treaded design and with ROAR's allowance of custom cutting of tread patterns that it wouldn't take much work to take a set of those tires and turn them into pins. We had a guy drop by last night for practice that did just that. The JConcepts tire will just allow for more options that might work out on tracks that have a shortage of traction especially where they have a modified SCT class.

IDK, I look at the stock SC10 tires and I look at my Panther Raptors or Switches and the stock tires look very scale to me.

Hopefully the SCT class will be the stander barer for the class and the pins and grooves are left to the old stadium trucks.

To each their own.

Anybody test fit a B4 body on their SC10 yet to see if it will work as an interior crud shield?

trx450racer174 04-15-2009 03:17 PM

Thanks for directing me to the pic. That's not going to work too well. Hmm? Maybe a JConcepts J82 body will be the ticket, instead?

Yeah someone else mentioned that also.. I am gonna make an aluminum cover and then make a mold for a C/F cover it will be light and have that bling factor.

Dragonfueled 04-15-2009 04:53 PM

besides the tires and body what makes this truck so different from a t4? Shouldn't it go something similiar to a t4? It is based on the same truck.

rcmark24 04-15-2009 05:00 PM

Extended chassis and bevel gear diff. are the big changes.

Dragonfueled 04-15-2009 05:25 PM

Should that have that big Of a negative affect?

TXGSXR1K 04-15-2009 06:13 PM

Anyone else have a bad grinding /clicking noise under hard acceleration. I thi8nk its my diff ... my pinion and spur are fine and the bearing look and sound fine.

TXGSXR1K 04-15-2009 07:32 PM

ok found there was no oil in the rear diff. I had 3000 diff oil but i filled it back with greese. well see how it sounds now.

TXGSXR1K 04-15-2009 07:58 PM

still maknig noise I guess I will try moving Shims around to take any small slop out of the diff. I am running a 5700kv motor.

This noise started after I ran the truck a few times. and is only there when the diff is on. not when i lift the back end and gas it in the air.

I haven't seen a stupid question in a while, so I thought I'd ask one. Is the "long camber link" everyone is talking about a different part or is it an adjustment of the stock part?

the book tells what it is. to make a "longer camber link"...you add spacers under the inside ballstud of the turnbuckles. to "shorten camber link"...you take spacers out.

the kit has you install 1 on each side i believe.
