I'm extremely frustrated with my SC10 right now. The kit was missing parts, my damn sensor cable is too short to reach the motor, you can't mount the esc far back enough, and for the brief second I did drive it across my living room floor, the transmission/diff sounded so horrible, I am about to just give up on this thing.

Anyone having any trouble with sensor cables not reaching the motor? I have an LRP setup, and I guess I need to order a longer sensor cable. Anyone know where to get one long enough?
You can purchase sensor wire harnesses in various lengths. For example Orion has them in 110mm, 150mm, and 270mm lengths LRP has them in 100mm and 200mm. I am sure there are others. |
can someone please measure the front width, from axil to axil please...
anyone?? |
Yeah I found a longer sensor cable on Stormer Hobbies. I'm gonna order that. Well, I figured out my lipo problem (totally unrelated) and got the truck running.
Only issue I'm having is if you floor it from a dead start, it doesnt have a lot of punch and is high pitched. I'm guessing that just means to tighten my slipper clutch just a bit right? Also, on initial takeoff, I'm getting a grinding noise if I just sort of drive in a circle and blip the throttle. Seems to go away if you open it up. My diff is loud as well. How did yall remedy this problem? I remember it being a few pages back. |
Well its mostly your slipper. Tighten it down another full turn or have someone hold the tires and you blurp the throttle. It should raise the truck slightly. Get that set first. Did you use the black grease or diff oil? Remember your running metal gears in an elec vehicle and not a gas so you'll hear alittle more mesh noise but it will break in after use and not be as loud. I built mine with the black grease and its not any louder than my T4.

Here's mine. First time building a kit. (I've always ended up buying rollers, and maybe a rtr here and there) Took me about 3-4 hours to finish, and was a piece of cake. I was missing some washers for the front steering knuckles, but had some laying around. This body is a Parma Rattler that was on my Slash. I had to trim around the fenders a little to make it not rub. If it looks like it sits a little high, it's mostly cuz the fenders are cut. Overall, it looks pretty good. I drove it in my parking lot, and it drives REALLY well. I'm running an LRP Sphere Comp/Vector 13.5, Venom 2s lipo, and an AE DS1015 servo. I have it geared at 26/75 per the suggestions in the manual, and it is really fast.

Thanks everyone for the tips but I had a question about the shocks. How much rebound should they have when you push them in and does anyone have any tips on building them?
I screw the cap on loosely, compress the shock completely while the extra oil bleeds out and keep it there for a couple seconds then tighten the cap. Really shouldn't have any rebound to speak of.

Have much time to cook. I bought the body from the LHS pre-painted/decaled. A local guy does em, and sells them on consignment, so I'm not sure where he got them. It's supposed to be a NASCAR replica. Just google "bass pro shops nascar" and you'll see it |
For the guys who already have a SC10. I have one question.
What is EVERYTHING you need to get this truck running? Radio + Reviever Motor + ESC Batteries Shock Oil Pinion Differential Oil Am I missing anything? |
Got the body painted and installed today, ran around the house and can't wait to put it on the track. The set up advice will be invaluable. This was my first kit and all went well I am thankful for not having any issues. It took me about 4 hours to build, I have all Losi stuff so this was very unfamiliar but I had a blast building it. Mine stripped with about 3/32" still left before the washer would be flsuh with the servo saver. It wasn't cross threaded or sideways and was straight all the way in until it stripped. Not even a hint that it was going to strip, either. It threading in fairly easy and I notice that it wasn't compressing the spring any further. Took the tool off and the spring launched the bolt and washer across the room.
I finished my build and this was the only tricky part. |
yeah the servo saver was a little tricky, but a nut driver and some muscle got it together with no issues.... i am running a 5998tg servo so i am not to worried about it. i cranked it down pretty good.
my ft t4 roller should be here today to finish off my build, i am gonna use the shocks, turnbuckles, and motor plate. cant think of anything else i really need... should have my body done today... |
I ordered the switch tires so we will see. I love them in my slash
