If you live in SoCal and have had a steering problem, please contact me via PM and I would like to get those parts from your kit that you had a problem with. I'll trade you out for new ones which should arrive in a day.

If anyone can send me pics of their steering clearance problem it will help a lot. PM and I'll give you my email.

On my truck, I am still running black grease in the diff... and yes it will break in after you run it and the gears get polished/smooth.

The two I saw one was just touching the front of the steering arms to the bulkhead, the other one was 2 to 3 mm interference. It looked like you would need to releave the bulkhead into the bolt holes to get clearance.

Mine has 1/2mm clearance when you sweep the steering from side to side.

It could be that the top plate is warped. If so, it should be OK once you bolt the parts to the chassis.

If you can try another top plate, do so and let me know the result. If you suspect a problem PM me and I'll get you taken care of.

I would have to say neither of them was bolted in the chassis. Mine was fine before mounted and stayed the same.

I had two questions about my build;

1.) Are the tires directional on the car? I know they will only fit on the rim one way but do they only go on one side of the truck? Left/Right/Front/Rear.

2.) I added enough black grease until my diff stopped sounding so "grindy" Now when I turn the wheels by hand the opposite wheel I am turning barely even moves. Did I add too much grease? Is that by design? I have never run a gear diff so this is kinda new to me.

A gear diff will only be free if you use really light weight oil, using grease, thick silicone diff or shock oil will slow the diff action.

So it is just a tuning option then. Lighter oil = looser diff action, thicker oil = tighter diff action.

As a rule of thumb. What is figured as a good medium? I read on here 20 wt shock oil would work good. How much action should I look for?

I just got mine finished today, and also ran into the steering issue. I had to dremel approximately 1/4" of material to get everything to clear. Click for a larger pic...

The SC10 has standard hardware? If it does I gotta order some drivers. I have an sc8 and its all metric. I wonder if anyone makes a sc10 metric hardware conversion. I would go for that without a doubt before I even build the truck.
I ordered the new MIP cvd's with the red threaded on ring to retain the pin. I guess its a new design? I ordered them for the t4

My build starts tomorrow, Thanks for the tips guys ill look for the steering issue and get the better foams for the tires.

Will the proline switch tires for the slayer fit the sc10 wheels? I like these tires on my slash. The slayer has the dual profile so maybe they will work
