Also, if you plan to run it on a track with bug jumps, get the factory team big bore shocks now. The plastic composites that come with the kit will not last.

I'm an overall newb here and have a question about the FT big bore shocks. Has anyone else noticed that the 16x32 FT front shocks are about 5mm shorter than the stock RC8TE shocks. My question(s) is: did I get the wrong FT shocks, should I not care about the length difference, or should I just change to longer shock shafts. I would really appreciate any help here.

Thanks in advance.

I just finished building this kit over the past weekend and I love it! I'm running it with a MMM 2200 kv, MaxAmps 5250 4S 60C battery, and stock spur/pinion. The speed is awesome. :D:D

On a sad note: I did manage to run into a fence post in my back yard and blow out a hinge pin bushing on the right front arm  So, I have a total of 10 minutes run time on it and now I am waiting on parts!

Oh well, such is life...

Although it is a very tight fit, I was able to get the Castle 2200 kv mounted to the motor mount with out issue. Should I be concerned abouthe the motor can touching the chasis? I do like the EliteRC motor mount, do I need it?

I did go ahead and add the FT aluminum front and rear chasis braces at build time. I think they are a needed upgrade.

Is anyone using the Spektrum DX3S radio with this kit? If so, have you been able to successfully mount the telemetry sensors for RPM and temperature? If so, I would love to hear feedback on how you mounted them.

Thanks!

Having the motor hit the chassis is not ideal. Especially when the chassis flexes. With the conversion kit you get a plate that goes under the diff on the RC8. I just put this plate on top of the stock RC8T plate. Then the Castle motor has plenty of clearance. It has worked well. You should be able to buy the extra plate for cheap.

kcobra,

Thanks for the info. Does anyone by any chance have a part number for the plate that goes under the diff?

if you're going to go that route, i'd get longer screws for the chassis braces, motor mount, and bulk assemblies. otherwise flip through the RC8 thread i think shimming the riser plate with washers gives all the clearance you need.

Thanks , I call Lunsford to day and they said mail them back and they will send me the right one.The pack that I bought was for the RC8T and not the E. They said the E pack is not out yet. I also tryed a new diff housing and it stilled leaked so I redid the it again using just alittle carb sealer to see if that will help if not i'll try what you said and put a new spur gear on.Thanks again for the tip..
Rob

I downloaded both the RC8T and the RC8TE manuals and it looks like all the turnbuckles are the same size and part #s. did you just get the wrong part because of Lunsfords packing error or is it a difference in the rods ?
I'm wanting to build my RC8Te with Lunsfords.
Thanks Joe

Thanks... Will do. I ordered the plate off ebay last night. I'll get some longer screws as well.

What would be a good Tekin combo for the rc8t????

OfnaJoe 03-30-2010 04:21 PM

Has anybody put a Championship Edition body on the RC8Te, if so how is it, and how about a pic? It is the JConcepts Punisher body ain't it? and do you have to use the adapter?

BAYCITYSTEVE 03-30-2010 04:37 PM

you only need the adaptor if you have the old carbon fiber shock towers .. the new ce aluminum shock towers have two spots to mount the body , one spot for the old body and another for the low pro body .. hope that helps ..

cpatel529 03-30-2010 04:52 PM

Im picking up an RC8Te used and wanted to know what wing is recommended. Do most people just use the stock RC8 wing or is there a high-downforce wing that is preferred?

cpatel529 03-30-2010 04:55 PM

What is the RC8/RC8T steering mod? What does it require and what does it do?

What mud guards are people running on their rear arms?

It helps, I have Xtreme Racing CF towers so guess I need the adapter:cry:
