anyone have try a agama a8t clear body truggy will fit on rc8t-ce with v4 kit ?

Scott_Mantis 04-14-2013 06:59 PM

I have a V4 converted rc8t, with 2200kv motor..
Just wanting to confirm a good starting point with gearing...

Also has anyone tried using a different truggy shell with the V4 conversion, as the Proline Bulldog seems a little wide for the chassis now??

Thanks!!!

Anyone built an RC8T CE kit lately and had an RC8B front aluminum shock tower included in the kit instead of the correct RC8T CE front tower? Just my luck, it happened to me. See attached pic. Tower was sealed up in the same bag as the correct rear tower and the aluminum hing pin blocks. Now I am going to have to spend $30 on the correct tower, as I need it this weekend. Don't have time to wait on Associated to send me the correct part.

I would call them up. Just finishing building a rc8te with a .2 motor mount. Can't wait to take it out!

Gotta vent here a bit. If this RC8T-CE kit is any indication of AE/Thunder Chicken's quality control, they sure have hit the crapper. I'm half way through the kit and have had nothing but issues. So far:

- Wrong shock tower included in kit.
- CVD pins that are to long causing the large bearing they ride in to bind.
- Spring type clip that goes around the pin in the hubs not being formed correctly. Looked like a tear drop instead of a circle.
- One hub not aligning with the axle. Had to force the pin in.
- Pre-built turn buckles having the ball ends installed backwards.

I've built probably 15 1/8th scale kits over the years. This kit has been by far the worse of the bunch. I don't remember the original RC8T kit I built 4 or so years ago having all these issues.

Damn Wade! the truggy curse continues.....

Ha. You ain't kidding. I'm having to grind down pins with the dremel, stabbing myself with a screw driver trying to force things into place, etc. My poor trigger finger has a gash in it now.

Gonna take out my frustrations at the HARC race this weekend. All those damn Short Bus hacks better watch out!

Yet another problem with my RC8T CE kit. The "center diff brace" was not included. It's the flat plate that goes between the center diff mounts and the chassis. At this point I am down to stealing parts off my worn out RC8T just to complete the build by this weekend. Guess after I complete the build tomorrow I'll email Associated a request for all the missing parts.

Rc8te rear drive shaft set screw slips on pinion drive gear shaft

Any suggestions I'm gonna try to get some videos up later it makes a grinding noise broke gear box down gears are perfect cleaned everything new diff fluid and new setscrew tightened with red loctite

Did you shim it? I had to use more than the kit supplied to correct an issue with mine. I had two shims on each side of the diff.

Got a quick question - probably been asked before..

I have an SC8e, which I find kind of boring. I also have a nitro RC8T, and have lots of parts. So, the question: what exactly is needed to convert?

I know:

1.) arms
2.) CVD's
3.) shock towers
4.) spur gear
5.) wing mount
6.) body
7.) center diff plate

I have 1, 4, 5, 6 and 7. I know I need the shafts and shock towers - which could possibly be found on ebay. But am I missing anything?

I had an RC8TE awhile ago and sold it. I have a friend looking to build a track for 5th scale. While not really a Nitro guy anymore Ive been looking for an 8te for bashing. Surprised not more are for sale since the ne 8.3t is out.

Anyone thinking about parting with one?

PM me. Don't want to break the bank either.
