Gear diffs require less maintenance than ball diffs, but are built different and for someone not familiar with them, they can be a beatch.....

The DEX is more durable than that POS HotBodies VE8 I bought last year.
If I raced with you and your perfect 44, I would put you in the wall every chance I got just to watch you go replace your whole front end. Just to be a prick.
Go talk to the guys in the 44 tread and tell them how good your car is. I'm sure most of those guys would like to hear something positive about that car. Even if it is a lie!

I made some mods that make life a bit easier.
I covered the center CVD's with used driveshaft boots (TD310023) to decrease wear from dust/dirt. Also, I use 2 set screws on all of the 2mm drive pins.
Added longer screws with locknuts on the outer diff cases.
And, to make greasing the pinion and ring gears super easy, I drilled a small hole in the top half of the cases, and sealed the holes with a small screw. While in the car, the screw can removed to inject gear grease with a small syringe, which also helps to measure the amount of grease used. I've been using these mods for months with no toasted diff gears. As a matter of fact, I sometimes swap the front and rear diffs to get a little more usage from them since they drive against opposite sides of the teeth.
