Perez if you built the car and you had to beat the thing on with a hammer then your not likely to get it off without detroying it. If the outdrive is in good shape and worth saving break the gear off. It sounds to me like who ever built the car did not sand the outdrive hex correctly and forced it on. If that is the case it will not be coming off in reusable shape. Goodluck

Anyone have any try using a Protek saddle pack? It states that its 25mm yet it does not fit.
After measuring it with both dial and digital calipers it measures 26.10MM. I guess thats what I get by trying to save some money and buying the "cheaper pack"....

If you go back a page or two I posted about the plastic gearboxes. If you hold the gearbox in one hand and the driveshaft/pinion in the other, try to wiggle it up and down. If there is any movement then it's junk. I had brand new cases that were like this. Also make sure there is no play in the pinion/bearings (in and out). Good luck.............

pay close attention to the screw in the shaft of the gear that drives your ring gear
the proper way to install it is to loosen the set screw, then with the gear shaft and bearings in one half of the diff case squeeze the gear and other end of the driveshaft together so there is no front back play
check out durango's website for the pictures of this... very important
once you have that issue solved you will need to see if your cases allow too much wobble up and down if so you will either need to replace them, or try three longer screws through the case so you will be able to mount a m3 nut to keep the case tighter.
if that is not the issue make sure you have your diff shimmed properly all cases have a little bit of variance and you might have to change the way you shim it from what the manual says.
hope this helps.
