Hey guys, stock brake level is around 52% anyone run anything very different from this? I am running 40% and am thinking of going to 45% 50% seemed a little too much. I know it's different in every buggy I just want to see what some of the trends are.
I am driving a
Team C T8E v2
Tekin RX8 1900 KV
44Tooth Spur
20Tooth Pinion
4.3 drive ratio
5600mah 60c Venom Lipo's Twin 2s packs
Thanks guys.

Need help. Just installed RX8 on SCTE with pro 4600. set throttle calibration and led light flashes center led then flashes led 1. that is normal. It then flashes all leds. RX8 has not been run at all.
anyone have an idea?

I've set the radio throttle trim center as best I could. With hot wire I left the neutral with at stock setting (52).

I hover between 55 and 60 on the CL with my setup. Still plenty of power and top end. One of the best features of the RX8 IMO.
Hi all,
I've just installed an RX8 & pro 4 - 4600 in my sc10 4x4.
I copied a setup sheet from the tekin site for this setup & it won't run....
I've traced & found the problem.
It won't run with the nuteral width of 10 as per the set up, but will run with it set at 25. i tried it at 20 or 15 but still wouldnt run???
All my setting on the radio are at the defaults Spectrum DX3C
Any help would be great
Cheers
Rob

If you center all throttle related knobs, you may or may not be at exactly zero and that will throw off the calibration and you may need to have a wider deadband because of that.

I have a few questions about how advance/boost/turbo (a/b/t) works with the current limiter (cl).
Does the cl over ride a/b/t?
Will haveing a/b/t turned up increase acceleration even with cl set low?
Does increasing a/b/t increase top rpm of the motor as well as low end torque? Assuming it does, if cl is set low will the increase in a/b/t still increase the top rpm's?
To make sure I understand each:
advance increases timing by a set percentage of 30* at all thottle positions & motor rpms
boost increases timing starting with 0* timing untill a start rpm when the timing degrees will increase to the set maximum at the set end rpm's
turbo increases timing after a set amount of time at full throttle at a predetermined rate & maximum timing
current limit cuts off the maximum amperage sent to the motor (is the rating on this slider a percentage of the maximum amperage the esc can handle or a percentage of the amperage being sent to the esc?)

advance increases timing by a set percentage of 30* at all thottle positions & motor rpmsNo, Timing advance is a percentage of 30* and is spread out over the start/end rpm range that is set.
boost increases timing starting with 0* timing untill a start rpm when the timing degrees will increase to the set maximum at the set end rpm's.Correct, however it may not be 0*. Motor timing is always the "base" amount.
turbo increases timing after a set amount of time at full throttle at a predetermined rate & maximum timingCorrect
current limit cuts off the maximum amperage sent to the motor (is the rating on this slider a percentage of the maximum amperage the esc can handle or a percentage of the amperage being sent to the esc?)yes and no. It's not a percentage in how many amps it's allowing the motor to use. It's simply a number of how much CL.

Ok, I think I'm starting to get a handle on this. I should set a base of X% of 30* in advance, then set the boost to start at y rpm's & end @ z rpm's with n* of boost to get me to the top end I want depending on the layout of my chosen track. Then I adjust cl & my slipper to limit wheel spin depending on the traction I get with my tires on a given day. Does this sound about right.
The problem I have been working on is an over active left index finger causing to much wheel spin while still keeping up w/ the fast guys on the straights.

The esc will never cover up the need for throttle control and practice.
You're over thinking this. Use the current limiter to control wheel spin. If you're spinning up the tires too much , reduce the power/timing.
We don't "boost" in the Rx8.

At 1st was big against CL, now... I'm at 50% on loose tracks and hitting the podium frequently
