I'm in the same boat, with some experience. I'm setting up my new rc8 with the rcproducts kit, (I've seen Dan and Tom's, their top notch) bought a neu 1.5d, with a mm with the new firmware. I put it in my EH-7 and it's plenty good for this setup.

Yep.... the MM works pretty nice. If it had the built-in CCBEC we wouldn't really need the MMM. But of course it's still hard to resist the newer more potent product. Thanks Castle.

That reminds me... I need to post a pic/info on wiring up a MM wiht a UBEC to make a nice clean package with less clutter and junk. Put it on the list of things for tonight, lol

If you were starting to put your 8ight buggy conversion together tomorrow, what esc, motor, and battery combination would you choose?

Also, how many you are waiting for the MMM?

With the advertised $300 price tag for the MMM/ Neu motor combo, it seems like a no brainer to wait a few more weeks (months?). I would spend more than that buying a new mamba max and Neu motor.

Got links to this?

I'm looking to convert a truggy (ST-RR) over to electric. I'm looking for recommendations, experiences, etc...... Trying to get it ready for the upcoming spring season so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I'm building my second, and I would use the RC Product designs conversion, mm speed control, and a neu 1.5 or 2 d motor. Castle creations bec is the best for this setup as well. For the battery, any of the Enerland 5000 ma 25c batteries work well. We've got five of these in the group we regularly run with now and all but one has followed most of this formatt. I'm not waiting for the mmm. Need my new one up and running for the end of march. With no release date set, and watching how long it took Telkin to finally release th r1 pro, you might be waiting a while. Then when they do get out, you could spend a few more months trying to get your hands on one. And there's no guarantee the neu copy motor will be as durable as the real deal. I'll stick with what I know works.

Just noticed the latest batch of Neu's have .5'' shafts. Will this be a problem with the rcm or rpd mounts and mod 1 pinions. I dont want to have the pinion hanging off the shaft more than a few mm's.

Thanks for the help.

My RC Product Designs conversion kit (EL8) should be here any day and I would love to be on the track asap. I would just hate to see the far superior esc be released a few weeks after spending $350 for the mamba max and Neu motor.

If I went for the mamba max, what Neu motor do you suggest? 1512 2.5? I wish to run competitive lap times with the nitro 1/8 buggies at crcrc indoor and outdoor and get 20+ minute run times.

Also, has anyone posted a wiring diagram for the fans and BEC required with the mamba max. I am not sure how everything is wired.

Thanks!

Anyone here planning to be at the ChiTown Shootout next week with a 1/8 E-buggy? I'm considering going and I'd like to know if I should plan to race one.

I am selling my 1515 1y/f (2200kv) if any one is interested. The listing is in the sell/trade forum and item is listed on Ebay. Bidding starting at $175 plus shipping. I am also including the rc-monster front motor mount as well.

Soooooo, did I miss somethng here. Is there a mamba max made that won't run 4s? I would think with the new firmware update that shouldn't be an issue.
Guys in the know, please fill me in. Thanks, Be Blessed, Rick

in the MM instructions it mentions NEVER cut wires from the motor shorter. does this hold tru for the neu motors also cause my motor has like over an inch of wire with no insulation on it.
