I was just sorting through some old files and I found pics of my first 1/8th conversion back in 2005.

Things have come a long way since then!

That setup is pretty cool. dual spinning can motors. If you got creative with mixing you could slow one motor or the other for cornering. almost like an "active" center diff.

Roar has looked at threads such as this one.

I agree that 5s and 6s is easier on electronics. However there will need to be a starting point. Some sort of guidline will need to be set.

Hard cased packs will be on the rules, trust me. Senorless and Sensored are allowed, this is going set as well.

Jim is very much involved in the 1/8 brushless Roar conversation. I agree with others though, if you want to voice your opinion contact your local roar reps.

Since the World's is over the RC Pro Series will be larger than ROAR in the USA and they are expanding internationally also to overtake IFMAR someday!

I have let my ROAR membership run out because it is useless living on the East Coast when all the big events are on the West Coast and besides who wants to use the useless hard case packs that are a real waste of money!!!

RC Pro with any motor and any batteries is the future.

Does anyone know what size bearings are in the 1512 NEU Motors and if they are easy to change? Also, anyone know what type bearing is standard (Abec 1? seal?)

My Medusa came with abec 5's in it and it is half the price of the Neu.

Also, does anyone know what size those little screws are on the end of the Neu Motors?

Arighty....

Since im an electric onroader i was going to get into 1/8 nitro offroad, but thought why not go brushless. So i have purchased and built the HB D8. Now im about to buy the 4S lipo, esc and motor.

I just want some feedback on the following items..

Team Losi 4S 5000Mah lipo. Is it reliable??
Mamba Monster Max V3? Ive been reading that many people have had problems with them???

And as for the motor i got no idea. I want a Neu just not sure what one, any tips????

Thanks

Sure it works fine but I have heard that their 4s pack is actually made up of 8cells. IMO it's better to stick with a 4s pack that is made up of 4cells. For example, ThunderPower eXtreme V2 or any other pack that uses Enerland cells.

I have heard of no problems (an I have been listening closely) with the the 3rd revision of the Monster Max.

I'm not familiar with the gearing (front/rear diff as well as spur) of the HB D8, but, it probably will be either a 1512 2.0d/f or a 1512 2.5d/f
