How does the stock layback transmission compared to the lay down of the b6.1d on a clay track like ocrc?

Both is fine there. I run laydown @ ocrc. I like the Low CG with all weird off camber layout designs they do.

I’m confused. It says the lay down has a 39T idler gear and the layback/standup has a 26T, yet they both have an internal gear ratio of 2.6:1?

The idler's only task is to reverse rotation. Only the topshaft and diff gear are part of the equation.

Idler gears have no effect on the ratio.

I have been told that is why they are referred to as idle as they do not changet the ratio.

I had to think about that for way too long before I understood. Good thing I never pursued engineering as a career!

Most people find it gives them more entry steering when you are slowing down coming into a corner and less exit steering as you accelerate away, so it depends where you need more steering if you'll benefit.

Default Vision Racing Product shock pistons

Has anyone tried vrp shock pistons on b6.1 on high bite smooth astroturf tracks? Would they help for the car to "settle" faster after big jumps? Also, have you done any set up changes if using vrp pistons?

What’s up with the B6.1DL? Looks like it’s the D with laydown instead of layback.

That is the configuration that the “FL” version comes with.

I see a fair number of drivers running this way, even if they didn’t begin with the FL.

Edit: when I posted this, a google search didn't bring anything back on the B6.1DL. I see it now..

It is a limited edition. Reminds me a bit of the B5M Champions Edition... B7 up next, you read it here first!
