With so many component changes between the B6 and B6.1 chassis and the new V2 springs, the setup sheets will vary significantly between the two versions. So, I agree with the need for two separate strings.

Honestly, I would have called the new car a B7...which should have resulted in a new string anyway.

From what I am getting the diff will interchange. MIP just released their 6 series diff early December and discontinued the 5 series. I believe AE would of gave MIP a heads up, I mean VRP already has a shock tower prototype already, think they could of had it that fast without word from AE.

Why would AE tell anybody anything? Every part you buy from someone else is money your not spending with them so it's not in their best interest to help other manufacturers.

MIP and AE have a very long close relationship. I doubt either party wants to ruin that.

It's called a working relationship. AE can sell more cars if aftermarket companies make cool stuff people want to buy to go on said car. AE doesn't even make light weight driveshafts, a big portion of MIP's business. I want to say JC had bodies available right when the B6 dropped. Don't be surprised if JC had a new B6.1 body when it drops. Shoot, AE basically got the B44 from JConcepts. The industry is small, and AE recognizes the value in strong aftermarket support.
