I think I'm running around a 4.2 fdr. I think 4 was too tall for the corners. Either chassis will work. We run vta and Chr. Chris run what you bring. No limits on chassis motor or tires. We typically get racing at 11 and the track opens around 9 but I think the races are off tomorrow. We race every other weekend

You must be the guy that called yesterday. Got the message but had or am having difficulty with the phone number. A bit garbled.

We will be there today from about 8:30 AM until the bottom drops out. We do not currently enforce a weight rule but all the pieces are in place to begin. Let your conscience be your guide.

If you would like to stop by to just check us out, please do so.

Well we got more out of it than I would have thought possible, We didn't lose the racing surface until nearly one.

Mark D brought his legends car along and was really amazed at how it performed with both the foam and rubber tires. It drove pretty well on the road course too. The low track temps kept the speed down in the mid 27's but allowed for some high 5 low 6 oval times. He felt a 7 second break out would be just about right for the 180ft oval. We didn't bother to try the 90 footer.

That will wrap it up for today. See everybody on the 25th for the next event.

This weekend was great for me. All the work I've been putting into my car seemed to be paying off with a serious reduction in my lap times.

Folks don't forget to join follow the facebook page for track updates and questions as well.

https://www.facebook.com/KannapolisRacewayPark/

thanks,

John

I will put you in charge of the follow the FB page. That will serve a couple of purposes. 1) it takes it off my plate and 2) it makes you an employee so you can't win the 50/50 anymore.

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll bring my wife and get her to play then. Mike, just add me to the admin for the page and I'm happy to help.

Just a heads up for folks as well.. I've also created a discussion group page on FB called Kannapolis Raceway Drivers Group..

https://www.facebook.com/groups/2434...source=unknown

It makes it a lot easier to post questions and replies driver to driver. It will function much like this forum, but FB is easier to follow and maybe we can get drivers to post their run cam videos and get some more publicity out. I'll work as the moderator for it, but please spread the word and request to join. I'll forward over any updates there about races, weather updates, as well.

What is everyone running for VTA tires here? I'm all set for VTA but I picked up a set of the Protoform tires. I've since read that the HPIs are way better on outdoor tracks. Am I going to regret it if I don't show up on HPIs? I can still return the Protoform set.

If it were me I would keep the Protoform's and pick up a set of HPI's as well. I personally have found out that you can mix them up and get some pretty good results when used with the softer springs. Yes, they are a bit pricey but it can be worth the expense.

I think that Mike said that the NAPCRAP race at Charlotte was pulling too many resources and that they weren't going to race this weekend.

You guys are making wish I had gone on road to start back into the hobby. It's a nice track, there. How many racers does the track see on a weekend on average?

Ah man really!? Dang, I was set on getting out there this weekend. Thanks for the heads up. I might head over in the morning just to make sure.

Last time I was there it was about ten people.

Guy's I'm sorry bit I had a bit of a kerfuffle and wound up in the hospital overnight. Vic worked at the big track so I just canceled it. I know the weather was nice but we just haven't come up with the depth yet to run the races without either one of us. See everybody on the 8th of June and I will show off my scars.
