Fingers crossed.
I'm hoping to make it out this week. It's been way too long.

Well it looks like the only good day will in fact be Saturday. Temperatures in the 70's and partly cloudy. Lets make our much belated opening day a winner by having a big turn out.
Classes will be as previously stated. US/VTA, US/GT/Carolina Hot Rod, and the always popular Late Models. We will open the gates by 9 and racing will start between 11 and 11:30.
See everybody there.

Did you guys race today? Weather was super nice.

I can state two separate things without a single doubt. Three actually. Number 0ne, the weather was chamber of commerce all the way. Number two, Zach straight up won CHR. Number three, John Richard got the 50/50 win again.
The turn out wasn't as great as we would have liked but it was enough to insure that everybody had fun. The bright spot(s) were that we had a couple new drivers from the Lexington area and one local boy as well. The cousins DeBusk brought another, shall we say, tier of competition while Rodney's son Connor showed that he hadn't lost a step from the old "High Speed" days.
Since we had seven VTA cars and only one or maybe two CHR cars we decided to lump them together. We do this so that no matter what everybody gets to compete. It muddies the waters a bit because you are never sure of who opted for what. We could change it up and go for say F-1 but that leads to another whole set of different concerns.
The racing surface was bothersome all day with a continually renewing coating of pollen managing to stay ahead of us throughout the event. If that wasn't enough we had the issue of picking up said pollen on our freshly "cleaned" tires which made traction even worse. Lap times were fully 8 seconds slower than when we finished last season and that is with the newly modified track layout. We have some homework to do.
This isn't much of a race report but it is the best I have for now. The load of personal concerns as well as caring for an aging parent are taking a toll. Just bear with me, I'll get it balanced out.
Stay tuned. Please.

It was a fun weekend. I swear I am doing nothing to influence the outcome of the 50/50. I could by lottery tickets all day long and loose 100% of the time, but I buy 50/50 and there I am.
I've got a question for folks. Just curious what everyone is running for servos. i've got savox in my CHR car, but am running a trackstar in my VTA that appears to be giving me some mixed results so I'll be swapping it and figured I'd ask. I did invest in a Sanwa MT44 transmitter as well, but I figured if there was something folk were running in terms of servo with good success I'd like to hear it before just buying another high speed savox.
Thanks,
John

I've actually been running an AE RTR SC10 servo and surprisingly thought it worked fine. What's going on with the track star?

I was having limited throw in one direction. Since I've got with Sanwa I can now program different right and left endpoints so I've alleviated the issue. The servo is centered with no offset, but consistently under throws to the left. I had to increase it to 115% on the left to get it to work correctly relative to 90% on the right. I've got a 1251 coming as well for the car, but we'll see. I've seen some inconsistent response which could have been more radio versus servo. It won't be the radio now. The Sanwa MT44 is really nice!

Who's ready to race this weekend? I'm looking forward to it. I've made gearing, suspension, and RX/TX changes to my VTA plus have a new "copper bomber" body coming out this weekend. I'm hoping we can get my wife talked into the late models. She intended to come out and support if nothing else.

MIke,
What's the word for tomorrow? Looks like they are predicting a bunch of rain for tomorrow.
Thanks
John

Would like to try racing at your track. What time do you start racing? I have a TC7 I race in VTA. What's the FDR for that car at you track? It's about 105g under weight. The track I race at doesn't care. Do you have any weight there is can buy? Also have a Tamiya TT- 02. Can I use it in any of your classes?
