Hey, Andrew you will love the 1/8 on road, I ran one for a while. They are sick. I reckon driving the buggies makes you a better driver as well because you need the reaction time and throttle control. Those things are just like driving on rails if they are set up right. Have fun

Looks like mother nature will water the track for us.

I can put up with a morning drizzle. Might drag out the mini marquee type thing and chuck a tarp over it.

Default 1/8th on road set up costs

hey there guys

i just thought i would let you all know that 1/8th is not as expensive as everyone thinks.
with the US dollar so weak the price is right.

chassis are about $550
picco motor $280
pipe $100
tyres $25 per set

check out
brooklynhobbies.com (email richie for prices)
winnerscircle.com
rcmart.com
rc-mushroom.com
ashfordhobbies.com
kamikazetoysandhobbies.com/
murnanmodified.com

last race meeting there were 8 1/8ths and there were even a few regulars missing.

this is the premier rc class of racing.

Happy Times

On road will never be as fun as off road.

Gotta agree there Turbine, offroad is nowhere as good as offroad. There is no where near as much driving skill in my opinion when racing on road. I mean it still takes skill but in offroad you have to jump jumps, make the landings right and be dead consistent to win!

Sounds like you have never run onroad. In offroad you need a certain amount of luck, like landing of jumps, in onroad its mainly skill very little luck involved.
IMO anyway.

They both require skill, onroad you need slightly faster reflexes and engine power/tuning is a big factor. Offroad IMO is more fun tho and has more emphasis on setup as track conditions change a lot lot more.
I've raced both classes and have always prefered getting dirty

If I had the money I'd race 1/5th, can't beat those things for sound and looks, 1/8 onroad cars don't really look like miniture cars, more like little flat rockets with a drivers helmet glued in the middle

Oh no, what have I started...

Onroad was always too much thinking about setup for my liking. I'm happy to admit offroad is a little simpler but man it's fun.

So who is actually racing this weekend? Really looking forward to it.

You should see alot more from them now the Australian Importer (Dawn Trading) has promised to provide the kyosho competition cars at a competetive price in comparison with the US and they will back it up with parts as the owner is going to look after it and not leave it to the guy that normaly deals with is.

Hrrrm.. onroad requires more skill...

Having run both.. onroad is more about your budget than your skills...

If you have got the fastest car you stand a chance in onroad...
