What spare parts do you guys advice buying with the S1 kit? I'm a beginner with cars (previous helicopters) and want to give this chassis a try.

All of these breaks were from being hit by other cars while racing. Never broken anything just from regular crashes.

On the track I've broken a driveshaft (it just came apart) and a c-block (I hit a wall).
The way I look at it, buying a bunch of spares guarantees I'll never break anything...

What pinion should i take? Going to run a 15t brushed motor in it.

If you look at the servo mount and the motor mount there is a place for 1 extra screw in each to be used with 6mm of spacers on the screw. This will keep the battery off the belt. Double check the manual to see where they go.

You use bolts that thread into the motor mount and one in the steering servo mount. The manual doesn't get into much detail and this step is easily over looked. Here is the instruction for the bolt in the steering servo mount and bolt into the motor mount.

thanks! i found that after looking through the manual again ha. but i used my serpent servo mounts so hope it works without that screw. Ill probably get the one peice servo mount with my swaybar kit. kinda worried about this cars stiffness. top deck is alright, so why not a 2mm lower plate as well?
ah well. ill see how this goes on sunday. on ashphalt. more excited to race my $89 car than my serpent or nt1 lol.
ps. not a lot of room for electronics.. why does the servo have to be so far back?

I use a strip of velcro glued to the chassis and battery. Its not the hitting the belt that is the issue, its the battery jumping out the holders when you get hit, or roll it. You do not need much velcro either, i use a 2inch x 1inch piece. Never had a battery fall out since.

im not too worried about getting hit though ill probably tape the battery in as well as use the strap. tape just to keep it from moving side to side, strap cause i really dont trust tape all that much lol. not a lot of room for my orca brushless system in there, couldnt imagine using a full size servo.. servo seems awfully far back but it is what it is.
