Hyper TT 4wd 1/10th Truggy Thread
#453
Running the TT w/a 10.5 Nemesis and stock 13T pinion. Its way under-geared. Any suggestions on a pinion?
Also, would a 10.5 be considered underpowered for this truck? If so, what motor/pinion would be a good choice for a small indoor clay track with a short straight?

A lot are running 6.5 motors, though in my case I turn my best laps towards the end of the battery running a 6.5 lrp octa with 13t , probably a 7.5 or 8.5 would cut it for me but on the other hand I'm still learning this truck. Our indoor track has a 70-80 foot straight and a lot of 180 turns, i only pull the trigger on the straight. I just enjoy it more when it rips as a lot at our club do. Rather get a lower turn motor and tune it down than the other way round in my opinion, and trigger control is learnable.

Even though I have one of these on the way I figured I'd throw a spin on my Hyper 10SC since I'm not doing SC class anymore. I'm doing 17mm hex conversion, 1/8 truggy tires/wheels, 550 motor, rear wing, no more bumpers, and 3s. I mocked it up and turned out to be 1 inch narrower and 1 inch shorter than my Rc8te but quite a bit lighter. Somewhere between the TT and an 1/8 truggy. I've got stuff on order for it now and will post pics when done. It just might be competitive in the 1/8 class due to the lighter weight.
I was trying to post a pic of the drilled chassis but the pic thing isn't working on the site's end right now.

That would be good if you guys came over to race with us. So far I may be the only one with a TT but I hope others get them. A class for these would be nice. To make a class we need 3 to 5 trucks. 4x4 Sc will be a class most likely. Hope this truggy gets some attention.

10.5 would be way underpowered to me. i would say that a 8.5 would be the slowest motor i would go. i run a 6.5 motor with 11t and its perfect for the local indoor track.
