I've tried both motors and the reedy quad mag is a far better motor. The epic has alot of top end and really screams but it's lacking that bit spark out of the turns. The reedy has alot better midrange and is very punchy with still good top end.

It all depends on how you gear them and how they are tuned. I'm assuming that the Epic can that we are talking about is the C2. Is this correct??? I always ran the Reedy can until a couple of weeks ago when I was tuning motors for the local racers for our annual race out here and was really impressed with the combo my buddy Scott B. came up with and when we duplicated it to my motor it was a rocket. Next time out on a med sized track try trinity 4499 brushes and purple spring on pos and red spring on the neg and gear it with a final drive ratio of 6.2 and see how that works for you.

Yeah it was a C2, tried it with 4499's and red springs all round and it didnt make any difference. I was racing indoors on carpet so my ratio wasnt quite that low but the c2 was flat mid range but was very strong top end, could of just been a duff motor but i wasnt the only person using one at the time and other peeps thought the same as me. Everyone else uses V2's here, i'm not a fan so the reedy works for me.

Guys I really need some setup help here. I have been trying to dial in my Mi2 to this one track for the last 4 or 5 meetings and nothing seems to work. Weylin has helped me with some setups but I'm still having lots of trouble.

Basically, I've lost all turn-in and nothing I change seems to make much difference. I have been using brakes on a lot of corners to slow the car down - most of the other guys running stock don't have to touch the brakes!

Even with brakes, the car still pushes into turns.

I have attached a map of the track with the turns numbered so you can see what areas I'm talking about.

The car has lots of push entering turns 1,2,7 & 8 and lots of power-on understeer on turn 6.

I've also attached my "best" current setup - it will take too long to list all the things I've tried.

cheers,
Bender

Bender,

Do you have excessive chassis rub in the front ? Maybe you have too much droop in the rear, and the car is dumping in the hairpins.

just a little testing update for you spool freaks....LOL The oneway set up that I posted on www.gearchart.com also works with a spool and no other changes to the set up. Just take out the oneway and put in the spool.....but due to the fact that 99% of the guys on here are Adrian followers LMAO just follow the set up with your exsisting spool

PW- The stickers will be on the car in the next hour or two. I couldn't sticker up a body that wasn't mine at the Reedy

I think there is some rubbing on the front edge of the chassis where it meets the bumper, I'll have a closer look this afternoon.

What do you mean by "dumping", is that too much weight transfer?

Hello Bender...I see quite a few things I would change:

Front:
Black swaybar
Remove riser plate and replace with 1.5mm shim

Rear:
35wt oil
5mm ride height
Black swaybar
shock mount on lower arm 2nd hole in from outside (most important)
Spool (locked diff)
Battery moved back to middle
