1) Should you put loctite on all the screws that go into the bulkheads? The instructions don't say to, but it seems like you would want to.
>> i've put threadlock on the bottom screws only. the ones on top don't need it i think. also put threadlock on the lower screw holding the steering knuckle to the c-hub...
2) The sway bar ends on the front of the car come extremely close to hitting the drive shafts. What do people do to avoid this?
>> add the 2mm spacer to the front of the arms instead of behind them
3) The steering linkage seems to rub on the FR suspension block. It looked like some people suggested sanding the block, but I don't want to mess up the purple It looks like once the weight of the car is on all 4 tires, then the steering linkage may clear better, but is there something else that can be done to help the clearance?
>> when the chassis is on the ground on all 4 wheels, and after you set-up the droop, it should clear the suspension block by a fraction of an mm... but sanding it down is still a good idea to avoice any jamming during runs.
4) Finally, when mounting the shocks on the shock end balls, there is a lot of play left in the mounted shock. Are you supposed to tighten the shocks to the point where the shock end balls expand and take up the slop? I could do this on the shock tower, but I couldn't when tightening up the bottom shock mount on the a-arm.
- i chucked the shock ball ends and used Xray's pivot bushings for the top and the longer lower shock ends with some 10mm grub screws...
hope this helps

Hi, I just finished building a new TC, and I had a few build questions. I tried using search, but didn't find everything that I needed.
1) Should you put loctite on all the screws that go into the bulkheads? The instructions don't say to, but it seems like you would want to.
No need for locktight. You are putting a steel screw into a alum. bukhead.
2) The sway bar ends on the front of the car come extremely close to hitting the drive shafts. What do people do to avoid this?
You can turn the plastic part of the mount that connects to the bar.
3) The steering linkage seems to rub on the FR suspension block. It looked like some people suggested sanding the block, but I don't want to mess up the purple It looks like once the weight of the car is on all 4 tires, then the steering linkage may clear better, but is there something else that can be done to help the clearance?
Most set-ups call for 1.5mm under the blocks. That should makeit clear.
You can tighten the nut until the plastic takes up the play or you can buy http://www.hotbodiesonline.com/products/en/61326.html and not worry about the slop.
Thanks in advance!

Here is footage from a recent friendly race while running the Exotek HBX chassis in the yellow car....

Car was super locked in while driving on a medium grip temporary track against factory drivers.
Thanks to IIGQ4U for the footage.

Just built a new TC, ready for this years first indoor race on sunday.
Wiring needs a lot more work, but the speedo is temporary so didn't feel like putting too much work into it..

Mike R, sick driving dude.
if that second place dude (that you passed) wasn't holding you back, you'd be battling for first.

Hey guys
the outdoors gas offroad season is coming to an end, time to race rubber on carpet again at the end of the month and put the Hara Cyclone back to winning condition after its last race early april '09. I've kind of lost track of the changes available to the Cyclone in the recent months. What are the recent "must have" that I need to order? My car is a Hara Ed, with pro-spec diff. No intention whatsoever to go to the TC
Thanks!
Paul
