Tamiya Championship Series
Wow, what a year. Retired at the end of April, been doing a bunch of bike riding (5K miles this year, easy) and headed over to France for a couple of weeks last month. Been hitting the 2014 east coast TCS events as well, but am wondering what the dealio is with the MRH event on November 9th.
Big question: will the M-03 be legal for this event?
Second, not-so-big question: Aside from the above, are there any major rule changes in Mini or GT2 we need to know about?
Since this event is only 33 days away, would be nice to know so as to be prepared.
Thanks!

Anyone???
GT-3 question guys
Our main driver is stepping up to GT-3 this season, and Imlooking at the rules for GT-3
The tires say that The Tamiya 54256 is the tire of choice for Carpet tracks, but
is it mandatory that we run them? If its not, are there any other Tamiya tires we can run?
Fred, maybe you can clairify this for us, we're trying to get ready for the MRH race on November 9th

Carpet rules!
My understanding this year was any Tamiya tire and rim combo for carpet was allowed. I'm here in California so maybe the rules are different elsewhere. But, here we can use any Tamiya tire C,B,A and wheel combo. As far as the inserts, it was any insert, didn't have to be Tamiya.
Hope this was of some help to you.
Just my 2$

Pulled right out of the GT3 rules. Pretty self explanatory.
"7. Spec tires: Pre-mount B3 tires must be used on asphalt tracks (item 1015). Any Tamiya tire and wheel may be used for indoor carpet tracks. Note: Tamiya’s C-compound tires are best for carpet. (item 54256)"

This Tamiya reminds me of my brother. He was really into that when he was still younger. I don't know if I will make sense but according to him, it is a radio controlled car racing competition that is organized by Tamiya America, Inc. Well, so good to here this series competition championship. I think, it is more fun and excting!

Simple bracket made from aluminum scrap mounted to the threaded hole on top of the spur gear holder to one corner of the fan. Bracket can be formed to whichever angle of the fan over the motor you prefer.

I thought about doing something similar with a scrap piece of lexan - so I guess this might work better

I'll have to take a picture of the fan unit when I get home tonight. With this heat sink, the clamp area is shorter then the motor can, so there is a little room for play. For insurance, I added a piece of foam servo tape to the solder posts.
