you'd be suprised how light they are gaz....just look at the yoko SDW....yokomo wouldn't have gone for alu bulkheads on their worlds kit if they were to heavy
if they are machined a lot..while still keeping strength in them then they will be very light.

i think these guys are talking about an open diff type setup..such as the evo4, yoko SDW/LCG, cuda r* etc

i will not be changing the chassis kit in any way for the tc4,i am extremely pleased with it.i will be keeping a closed transmission housing with the car.i will be making them out of delrin to keep the weight down.i dont want to keep the stock wing braces from AE because they are too weak and do not hold tight tolerances.the aluminum ones on there FT TC4 are too heavy and the hole locations are only as accurate asd the molded parts.i will be making nut plates from aluminum that are light weight that will secure the ball stud if you strip the threads in the top deck.i have not had problems with this yet but anything is possible.i will also be making delrin outdrives with retainer clips to achieve the same light weight of the stock plastic ones but with the luxury of accuracy and durability.i will be making shock towers from 3mm carbon fiber with aluminum light weight mounts and also shock mounts that will insure propper shock allignment without shimming.the key to eliminating the flex in the shock towers is using good bracing.the FT and others i have seen rely too much on the tower itself which will allow for the whole mount to be torn from the tranny housing.i will post pics of the new components as i finish them.thanks for the interest guys.

ooooooooh sounds good to me Jason.
i notice you said you will be making delrin gear cases right....and alluminium shock tower mounts.
why not just make 2 gear cases, one with a mount in it (like pro4 style) for the shock tower and one std version.
