When your at the LHS-just buy the Blue screw kit from Associated. I dont have a part number-but its a bag filled with assorted socket, flat and button head screws-all in Blue aluminum.

If your stripping them-your tightening them too much. Also-one small tip if I may-use a steel socket head to prethread all new holes-or a 4-40 tap if youve got one. I use steel screws still in the steering rack with a drop of threadlock and Long steel screws in the battery posts to make sure they dont bend.

Also-I use 3mm screws in the body posts as they are a bit oversized and will NOT loosen up.

Links to a good prices would also be handy.

1-Take the aluminum spacer out!!

2-put a dab of thread lock on the bearing cap screws and then evenly tighten down the cap till its barely snug on top of the bearing.

Thats it-hope that helps,

Rob,

Its funny as I told Jason-you need a little sheet of paper with an addendum to the manual explaining about that little spacer and how the bearing cap is designed to float above the motor mount.
Do Not machine/sand or otherwise do anythng to the motor mount!!!

My drivetrian has old outdrive bearings, carpet fuzz in the input shaft bearings, cheap bearings with grease in them in the hubs and it spins the usual 8 seconds. Oh-I also have the Warpspeed Diff cases which I highly recommend.

Stock cap on mine. Mine is barely tightened down without any threadlock and the screws have yet to back off.

dont use aluminum screws on the hinge pin blocks.every time i hit the wall it would snap the head off the flat head screws.i use titanium ones in there and aluminum everywhere else.
