you cannot use a 4S lipo because it is past the max voltage on the esc...

The 7700 can take that battery. I would be a lot more worried about the battery being capable of handling that motor. Liions are rated for like 5C discharge rate.

not the ones im lookign at. they have a 30C constant and a 70C burst for like 1 minute at a time. ive seen people use them with 5700 and they rocket. a ton faster than a 7.2V nimh

Why not look for a 3S (3 cell) lipo and grab a 5700 if you're after speed...

price is a limit. also space. my buggy is a dark impact and it is tight for a 6 cell nimh. i dont think a 3s would fit. plus charge time. the a123 system will fully charge a 4600 battery in 20 minutes and it makes the power and run times of a 4200 8 cell nimh

If its a tight fit for a 6 cell nimh, then ull have trouble fitting the a123 4600 cause its a bit fatter...

What is the weakest part of the motor that will first worn out under normal use, and how long will the motor last under normal use? Will the bearing hold out for a long time?

no a123 are li-ion. and i have a little bit of space. enough to fit the width. but thickness is a problem. these batteries should just fit.

They said that for the large track I run on, to gear the car as high as it would go. then reduce the gearing if the motor temp exceeds 200. He said I should be able to get 60-70mph out of this car and runtimes will vary buy I may get anywhere between 7-15 or more minutes.

Now I have to figure out how many battery packs I need.

thanks,

so what you are saying is to get 4800 lipo pack.
and what ppl are saying here is to wire the motor with no plugs and short
and run the capacitor on the receiver.
i want to run the 5700kv in a kyosho 4wd.

street, ah, my bad. I just did the research, and yeah, a123 are li-ion. It's the saphion cells that are li-fe.

The orion/peak 4800 is a 2 cell (2s) lipo. The shorter the wires are, the easier it will be for the motor to draw its amps, = more power. Running a capacitor on the rx helps with glitching and takes a bit of strain off the bec...

Im waiting for a orion 3200 LiPo, a novak glitch buster capacitor, & a new 4600kv motor that will be hard wired, ill let you know how they all go together in one...

I just wanted to say thanks to Castle for a quick warranty repair to get my 2nd Mamba Max system back on the track. Although I have to cut the bullets off again and put my deans back on, I couldn't be happier with the repair service.

I pulled out a nice A-Main win in 4wd buggy yesterday with a MM5700 system with a MaxAmps 8k LiPo XXX-4 besting a Permax(?)/ThunderPower system, a MM4600 system on MaxAmps 3s 6k and some brushed motors.

My MM4600 powered 4-cell NasTruck was also making a very strong showing until a turnmarshall put me down in front of a full speed pack of cars coming out of a turn low in the 2nd qual round and absolutey creamed my truck and took me out for the rest of the day.

I get more questions on what motors I'm running than any other setup I've run in the past.

Thanks guys!!!
