Here is a question. I have a Tekin Rs Gen 2. Two weeks ago I loaded the latest firmware onto the ESC. I did not calibrate it after. I run in blinky mode. I've ran it 2 weeks and it still runs fine. Would it still work even if the calibration procedure wasn't done? What negative affect might it have on it?

2 fold question here Randy.
1. Current Gen 13.5 in 4wd buggy. With Blue rotor timing set on Motorlyzer at 46* seemed to be the optimal number. Geared for our track car felt strong just lacked a little speed on the straights. Installed the yellow rotor left at same 46* set on motorlyzer numbers where a lot lower on rpm; understandably but so was KV. Increased timing to match RPM of the blue rotor to 50* and KV was close to the blues number but not quite there. Hit the track with same gearing as the blue and the cars lap times were not even comparable. Got better numbers with the blue. I dropped one tooth on the pinion and car was bettering laps time from the blue but it was warm. Didn't have another pinion to try one more lower. I guess; what is the norm to have to change gearing/ timing from the blue and yellow.
2. whats the big feel and difference on the Spec R from Gen 3 rpms? 17.5 for TC and 13.5 for 4wd Buggy. Gearing and timing starts from from the Gen3 versions.

Hi all,
Does the latest 258 firmware apply to all RX8 generations? There is no compatibility list on the tekin website which I find very strange...

So, after reading about the Spec R 6.5t motor, I have a question that I hope someone can help me with.
I've currently got an original 6.5t redline motor in my 1/12 mod car. It works really well in my car on our outdoor track. I just lack a bit of top end. I'm having a tough time keeping up with the other guys on the straight.
I'm looking to get a new motor, but I don't want something with too much torque as its taken me quite some time to get the car set up just right. So this finally brings me to the question. Will the spec R 6.5 fit the bill? From what I understand, this motor is supposed to have a fair bit more rpm than my current motor. So hopefully someone can help me with advice or even feedback on how this motor actually feels.
