I've been working through some classic Lotus F1 colour schemes.

Lots more to inspire here too. Some work really well on new high nose shells, and others less so. Been thinking about a 90s Alesi era Ferrari. And the "paint drip" Benetton would be a real challenge...as would the Giantes Ligier.

It sure would be...that has always been a problem for F1. I don't understand how manufacturers could come together on TC specs so quickly yet with F1, which has been around for far longer, they never have been able to. Well at least in the US it looks like almost everyone has settled on 190mm with rubber tires these days.

Hello everyone, I've been looking at jumping into F1s, that's if some friends and I can find a place indoors to run locally. I have some people telling me the F103 is a better route than the F104 this information true? Your guys thoughts?

The following is my biased recommendation, but... if you're just getting into it and want solid performance that won't break the bank, check out the Speed Passion SP-1. Great performance out of the box and priced very competitively.

Its not that the 103 is better than the 104 its the wider track and tires used on the 103 & 104W cars are better. If nobody has gotten a car yet I would recommend the narrower 104 cars since they conform to the standard rules used by most clubs.

The foam tires are better on the 103 and 104w...the rubber tires are much better on the 104. Locally we've tried the 103 pit shimizu tires that are supposedly the same compound as the 104s and they just don't work near as good as their 104 counterparts.

That depends really on how you and your friends want to structure your f1 class. If you are going to allow wide cars with foam tires then the F103 is the better of the 2. If you are going to stick with more modern looking scale cars in a more narrow configuration with rubber tires than the 104 is the way to go.

Or as mentioned earlier you could get the Speed Passion F1 and be able to set up the car for wide or narrow or foam or rubber And don't forget...CRC has a F1 coming out probably next month too
