I would encourage everyone to go to F1Paintlab's Facebook page and check out the McLaren MP4/28 that Brad just finished. Whoever is getting this body is getting a great piece of work.

Fresh Pit 571/575 sets on the way here. I was hoping for swift action from Sweep to correct the rock hard rear tires, but no luck so far.

And on the new chassis front. If any of you have the chance to drive the Speedpassion SP1, grab the transmitter as fast as you can and give it a try.

Considering i just took those pics last night as we were talking about it yes! You can clearly see that those tires are not the same and you can clearly see that the compound was absorbed by the TCS tires while the Pits were not. I dont really see how you can argue with that.....but of course you will

Now i will admit that the new sets seem to be a lot closer but they have not been run yet so there is a chance that NOW they are all the same.

Quick question. Is 3mm the universally accepted minimum ride height for F1 (I know it is UF1 rules, but what about IIC and such?)

Also, are people able to run at 3mm without rubbing the front wing?

I never go below 4 mm. I keep most of my cars at 5 though.

For carpet yes. I run approx. 3.5 in the front and approx. 4 at the rear.

The wing does touch the end plate in the sweeper and faster corners but not much. I also touch the outside of the chassis (F1R, wider links than Tam VII) barely. A little rubber on the bottom of the car is not necessarily bad. It shows that the tires are working and the car is 'getting into' the track.

Higher ride height prevents the rubber on the bottom of the car but makes traction roll much harder to control.

My track in nor-cal, Speedworld, gets 160-162F in the summer
I only run the Pit rears as the TCS version I bought doesn't have near the rear grip on my F104VII

It must be a batch thing or Pit made a small running change

this really sucks as I always initially try stuff that Marcus and/or Cuda say and tune from there because they are both reliable

Thanks Rick, I appreciate the help. I don't mind the chassis rubbing, I would actually prefer that to traction rolling. The hard part about F1 traction rolling is that it seems like you get absolutely no warning before the car is already tumbling.

What is general convention wrt side springs and tube lube on f1 chassis? Do people try and run stiffer setups to make the car corner level, or is there a tendency to run softer setups to try and incite more body roll? I know that with WGT we run thicker tube lube to try and keep the car level and prevent it from rolling, but the dimensions of F1 chassis are so bizarre and the tires are so different that I am not sure what will translate over from my pan car experiences...haha.

Thank you for the verification, I know I am not crazy!! No reason to feel bad about it, is just a small indifference that Cuda just overlooked or just didnt realize. Both tires are good they just are not the same as verified by others and not just me. I dont think it is a batch issue because the odds of you and I having the same batch of TCS tires is very small and i have 3 pair of Rear TCS and they are all the same but not purchased at the same time or from the same place.

For carpet I've found stiffer springs and heavy tube work best. If you try to initiate too much roll from either a softer setup or weight to the rear traction roll is almost guaranteed and violent.

Asked that question a while ago. Heard not as good as the Pit/TCS tires.
