For the Pit Shimizu tires you use the Tamiya foam tire rims.

While on the wheel and tire compatibility subject, will these tires work on the F104 chassis? If so, will they push it to 200mm? Are these the type of wheels that I need for Pit tires? Thanks,
Scott

OK, let me rephrase. I have an F104 narrow that I am wanting to use these gold wheels on. Since they're intended for foams, I assume I would have to use Pit's if I want to mount rubber tires. Also, what would the front and rear width of my narrow F104 be with these?
Thanks,
Scott

Those gold wheels are made for the F103. They are a smaller diameter than F104 wheels, the rears are wider and the fronts use smaller 5x8mm bearings.
To use them you will need tyres made for the F103, so for Pit they would be part number 541 and 542, not 571/572. Same compounds but quite different sizes. You would then need to use the F103 front end as well, making the car 200mm wide front and rear, the smaller diameter of the front wheels mean they will not fit over the F104 front end. To fit them on the F104 front end you could try and remove spacers and find shorter kingpins, but you would end up with a 180mm wide front and 200mm wide rear.

Try gold paint... 103 rear wheels are kinds crappy anyway, IMO, with the inserts and all.

Most of us just use gold spray paint...

It looks like i will be able to make it to the track tomorrow. it rained hard a few days ago washing off the syrup so I am not sure how well the car will handle but if i can at least get the tires scrubbed in i will be fine.
I always use SWEEP tire conditioner on new tires so both sets are soaking overnight but not in their container. I also do not balance until after they are scrubbed in. If I balance first they are always out of balance later so i just wait. I have a really good procedure for mounting them and they only require a few grams to get them right anyway! I am also testing the new Fantom 140c shorties they sent me a few days ago! the internal resistance is stellar so i expect some good speed. If the track is driveable I will run 10min on both sets and take vid and pix.
I have also been playing with my vintage F201, I put a max boosted 17.5 in it and spooled the front axle so it drives really well! The gear ratio is so low that it is still not as fast as the DD car but it really pulls through the turns and has badazz braking!

What is your tire mounting procedure and what CA do you use?
What is your opinion of Sweep F1 tires?
Where do you get the balancer an weights to balance your tires?
Thank You

Losi red is the best IMO but if you are not fast than go with the blue.
SWEEP tires are not driveable at this point but they are supposedly testing new compounds.
I got my prop balancer from a guy selling a bunch of RC stuff years ago. I machined some adapters for Tamiya wheels and have been using it every since.
