You need to understand that my group of racers is made up of some who have a lot of experience, like myself; but there are more in our group who do not, they are newbies! F1 cars are more difficult to drive than many other types of rc cars, and when you factor in the less than perfect parking lots we race on where we live, you need all the help you can get! I'm just trying to make the cars a little more "user friendly" for the majority with regards to racing them on a parking lot. We are a private club with no intentions of entering any public sanctioned races.....so what's the problem with using a gyro if it helps the majority have more fun?

Rob and I are in agreement on this all the way. We've seen what the results are in dirt oval racing when some use them. I've seen what the results are in off road when they are used. We both feel they should not be allowed. To avoid a long post and debate, it dumbs down the car removing the setup knowledge necessary to make your car work. F1 is not a class for someone just getting started in RC, gyros or not. Even with a gyro the open wheels have a much higher learning curve and will frustrate beginners to point where they will want quit.

Please don't get that wrong, but after coming from touring car to F1 this year, the only thing that makes f1 more difficult is that you cannot go full throttle in the middle of the corner and that you have to be more careful with braking (if you didn't adjust your transmitter...). So maybe one day adjusting to it. This should not sound snobby ( I know it does), but using a gyro just takes the fun away of 2wd.

I'm happy to even have braking! My last RWD had no drag brake... 180/320/720 every time you needed to slow down.

(Sorry if this has been asked before)
Thats my choice of chassis and I love it. Depending on traction levels and the tires you are running you may want to run 190 wide

Why do a lot of people don't run the 2012 Ferrari body and has anybody tried the speed passion f-68 and Titan f101 bodies I'm looking for a new body and might just go for the f60 with the mclaren rear wing. Any opinions would help before purchasing a new body.

Thanks for the info Good to know.

Running the Tamiya/TCS tires at present but we may move to a spec tire (Sweep/Pardas)...

The lexan body parts all work about the same. When it comes with wings, the narrower front wings tend to be a bit better on carpet for chassis that roll alot in the front, the 2012 wing bends too easily and the just about all the rear wings feel the same.

I turn the same lap times with the F60, McLaren MP4/24, McLaren MP4/5b, Tyrell 019, and Jordan 191 body sets. I prefer the style of the early 90s bodies and choose to run them whenver possible but they offer no performance benefit.

As it was mentioned the bodies all work about the same. I have used the sp f68 and it is just as good as anything. Dont know about the other one you mentioned. I hear some guys like the f104 pro body because its lower...at least for carpet

Ok thanks I run on asphalt. Can u use the 2012 body with a mclaren wing or can I use the f60 wing vs the 2012 wing. If you have pics lease post so I can see how they would look. Also ROBK how does the front nose hold up on the speed passion F-68?

I don't think you can mix and match the Tamiya front wings with different bodies, they all have a different shaped body mount, maybe... but i don't think so. especially with the 2012, its unique and real flat. The rear wings however can be mixed.
