Do the outdrive orings fit well into the case or is there a lot of free play?

Both the kit and Kyosho P5 O-rings should fit well into the case (no free play, but not super tight). I had the diff built with the Kit rings and it leaked slightly from the outdrives. I built it up this past weekend with the P5 rings and green slime and it hasn't shown any signs of leaking from the outdrives.

I've done nothing else with the diff (no sanding, no special shimming, etc.) and its super smooth and now leak free.

The orings don't fit well on mine, there is a lot of free play.

It appears to be a common problem with remedies such as green slime, diff grease or using CA to glue/seal the outer edge of the orings to the case.

I have never heard about anything other than some sort of lubrication for o-rings, outdrives, green slime seems to be popular

CA glueing is a new, where did you hear that ?

At the track.

I haven't used CA before as none of my previous cars have leaked but I have heard of others using sealant and CA before (from memory xray) when I ran nitro cars.

With the 2 clips? I've been running them in 17.5T blinky. No issues.

+1 for mod, no issues but they are getting slop quicker than I had hoped. Got some of the Roche ones to try now, will report once I've run them

I have both new and old dj's IMO the new ones seem to hold up better. I also bought the cso one which are quite nice...bang for the buck at 25 a set.

Does the bd7 2014 model come with a floating servo mount? Some websites say it does and some say it don't. Also does it come with any sort of battery retainers??? Thanks

No and No.

It doesn't really need the battery retainers. Just be sure to smooth the sharp edges on the tape slots so it doesn't cut your tape!

Floating servo mount? Officially: no, not included. But some shops (at least here in Europe) actually sell the kits with the servo mount included. So it depends on the shop, whether they offer it like that or not, I suppose.

The only battery "guide" included is a center plastic piece under the the belt. Else you're supposed to just tape the batteries to the chassis. However, there are optional (plastic*) brackets available (B7-118G) from Yokomo, or you can contact Bezerk RC, he makes some out of carbon fiber:

Although I think I bought the last two pairs he had in stock a couple of weeks ago, but he told me he cuts them to order.

EDIT:
* = apparently it's metal, not plastic, sorry.

Cool, I've been running the Mr. Roche ones and have not had any issues, just thought about picking up the new yok ones for spares.
